I Will Heal Your Waywardness
I taught you to walk long ago.
I took you by your arms;
but you didn’t know that I was the one who healed you.
I led you with cords of human kindness,
with ties of love, like one who lifts a little child to the cheek
I bent down to feed you
Why then are you determined to turn from me?
“I will heal your waywardness
and love you freely,
for my anger has turned away from you.
