I took my wife and two young sons to Nusa Dua, Bali about 20 years ago. The island was full of Javanese hustlers and one could not sit at a restaurant without being harassed by hawkers. Apart from one money changer stall in Kuta, all the money changers were cheats. Even the police were setting up road blocks on roads heading to the mountains, stopping all the cars with tourists in them and extorting money from the drivers. I saw a fat cop holding a big wad of cash walking from car to car. The freelance drivers are all crooks and take you to restaurants which sell seafood by weight and the scales are rigged so 300 grammes weighs 1 kilo. The whole place is a scam. Don't go there.

Bali is a cheap vacation for Australians, like Cancun for Americans, so you see the same drunken louts about. Half of them seem from Perth. The street scenes don't look like the Bali since 2000, with traffic creeping along at 10 km/hr and narrow sidewalks crowded with pedestrians trying to get around vendors. Took 2 hrs just to get out of the airport. Perhaps Covid take 2 thinned the crowds.

When did you visit bali? I'm looking at dates for my wedding and Idk how bad the rainy season is
