Hi Bud I just got s1 as well it's my very first gimbal so I can't compare to any other, smaller units. So the way Im having on the chest mount is Im using is a J hook, no extensions added, so back of the unit sits on the chest plate, works great,

That's my kind of trail Brian! I love that tricky tech stuff. You rode it well. For that over the shoulder view, I recently built something to do that but haven't tested it yet. I'll let you know how it goes. You're smart to keep doing what you've been doing. Your videos are fun to watch the way they are. If it ain't broke, .........

I honestly hate filming while I'm on a ride, ill snap a picture here and there but that its really it, its just too much time and energy and not enough enjoyment fro me to film myself. But I am sure glad there are guys like you out there documenting their rides and motivating me to get out and ride more frequently.

Maybe a 'love handle' angle ? ;-) That 'scorpion' look was not bad at all actually, although it did not depict the trail very well. I think the rear follow cam view works real well. Maybe you could glue a GoPro mount on the other side of that gimbal's battery box, although that would not be secure. Bummer you could not make that gimbal work. I completely agree on mounting that monstrosity on your helmet is downright dangerous, but a pole sticking up out of your backpack with the gimbal setup over-head might work. Yes way up there, but has potential. Makes me wonder how long it would last if you mounted it to the bike itself. Like to the head-tube ? Use a roll-cage clamp mount or something. Probably only good for smooth trails. I used to mount my GoPro to the handle-bar, but the footage was garbage. No way to stabilize it in post. Now if they made a GoPro Session with optical image stabilizer, that sucker could be mounted anywhere. I think Seth mounts a session under his visor, although it can get a bit shaky. I think the Sony has optical image stabilization, but it's size and shape make it difficult to mount.

Some of us have to deal with 10 inch dongles for our entire lives. But...well...I'll see myself out.

Let me know if you want to play with karma grip. Battery is great (it also charges gopro) and if you want to go for a 8 hour ride you can have it connected to power pack. The only negative I noticed is it drifted horizon tilt once or twice.

Hey Brian I know what you mean with turning a ride into a video shoot, but that view angle at the end over the shoulder looks really cool haha, but like you said, its better a nice POV with other angles here and there than a video with 10 different angles but no feeling, cheers man and keep having fun.

Dude great review of Removu s1! I think those removu guys are kicking themselves in the arse . I can tell you one thing, that camera on you looks like no fun at all!!! I won't be riding in the rain with that this winter!!!!

Wow! Scorpion-medusa view is awesome . You can include it from time to time.

I put one piece of electrical tape on my chest mount slide in mount and that took up the slack and stopped the go pro from rattling at the slide in point where you attach the camera. It made the two fittings tighter hope that makes sense.

You could stick on a 3M mount to that side and boom! Love the channel! Its sweet to see you ride with other subscribers, locals, etc. maybe something to add along with the POV is a bike check on the bike your trail guide/host/whatever is riding like with the dude with that dope yeti. Love seeing what other people have as preferences or little things they do to tweak their shred sled Thats always fun. Just a thought. 🤙🏽

hi I have an idea... why not use it as a barmount? I mean I have not tried it... as I dont have a gimbal. Maybe you could try and experiment?

It's the kind of thing I would need in my hands to fuck with to try and figure something out (I'm visual plus tactile). But sometimes, you just have to sleep on it, think about it, and a "what if ..." will pop in your head. How do you feel about handlebar mounted things? Afraid they will impale you if you go end over the bars? Good luck. Happy trails.

Hey, I use the Karma Grip which is quite big however, it works excellent with the Seeker bag (on the shoulder strap not integrated chesty) The Karma grip is a little big as of now however, they are releasing the extension cable shortly which will allow it to be used comfortably and hopefully sturdy on the chesty. I have it pre-ordered and will have a review up on it as soon as it does. I already have a video of the Karma gip up now and I'm sure you saw the way Phil with skills rocks his too....he has a pretty cool hack to keep it solid.

I've only recently come across your channel, which I really enjoy, and I like your filming philosophy, that hunk of metal is not much chop.

Does that mechanical 3rd arm on your chest feed you cheezits whilst riding?

I also love how your videos come out, specially the extended versions on patreon. Only thing I wouldn't mind is a subset of the bike's telemetry and Trail map. Would be cool as shit to see what the grade of the hill you are experiencing and how much brake/peddle/gear you are using to deal with it. Also be nice if you could click them subsets off/on as desired. (I'm in a dream world). Safety should always be #1. You don't want to have footage of the EM doctors all looking down trying to dig a mount out of your chest.

Hey mate should of tried the stick on gopro clips with the screw in bit attached to it and just stuck that to the back/front of the gimble and just screw that straight to your chesty 🤔 might of worked.. lol

Did you see that you could unscrew the GoPro mount and flip it around? With the gimbal upside down it looks like you get use just one GoPro thumb screw. I just got one and haven't had it out on a trail yet, but like you trying to figure it out. Also saw a guy strap the gimbal with the handle attached onto the strap of his hydration pack. I'd be interested to see an over the shoulder video, i know it would loose the first person perspective but hell if it makes it easier and more fun to ride your bike! What's wrong with handlebar mounts, is it too far forward?

I think I will go with a helmet mount since my helmet has one built in, but whether or not I use a gimbal is up in the air. I find that my head stays pretty level even over rough terrain, but once I get a GoPro I'll see.

I swear that monstrosity looked like you had half a terminator emerging out of your torso, a la Alien birth scene. On the over the shoulder mount option though, I have a Wizpack with the extension arm. The footage is neat however you need to gorilla arm the aluminium joints into place to prevent noise during the ride and there is a noticeable weight to the rig. I've not tried it with a gimbal (my next purchase) and you've now saved me from getting this one which was pretty much at the top of my list. Have you tried / heard anything about the Slik gimbal as that would be my other option - I need waterproofing for riding here in rainy Blighty and for skiing, so options are seemingly limited. Keep going with the great videos my friend.

That angle of viewing the trail from over your shoulder would definitely be pretty cool here and there, but I 100% agree that your videos are better in first-person. Oh, and I actually enjoyed the frequent vulgarity in this video! Well, more frequent than usual, I should say. You were by no means a trash mouth, but it was cool. I curse like a goddamn sailor, so it sat pretty well with me, LMAO!

I've been waiting weeks for this video. Thanks man. (Sigh...) I bought a Hero 5, so you probably already know where this story ends -- I also liked the compactness and lightweightness of the Evo SS gimbal, unfortunately the footage was unusable due to the new Hero 5 design -- its microphones up against the gimbal motors comes through as loudly as being next to a speeding locomotive. So, I sent the Evo back (about $50 loss overall; shipping, restocking + lost time). Now I see that I should have sent back my Hero 5 instead, and got the Hero 4. Clearly the best setup for mountain biking.

Maybe you could stick one of those helmet mounts on the backside, and then attach it to the chest mount?

I don't think it will be long before good optical stabilization becomes standard. The newer Sony model has it, just a matter of time before Gopro improves theirs

Yeah! that sucked! Removu S1 was my top gimbal choice to buy, but the noise has been bugging me big time and now the chest mount is a NO NO, and I agree with you as a head mount, no chance! Wouldn't want that hunk of metal compromising the helmet or my head. The Feiyu Tech Wearable Gimbal, can it be used as a handheld gimbal on a selfie stick, or is it only for mounting on GoPro accessories? I only want to use it for skiing, quad biking, SegWay and riding bike. I found your channel through my gimbal searches and really love your videos and its refreshing to hear the odd F and S bomb through all the laughter. Looks like you are having a lot of fun what you are doing. You got yourself a new subscriber. Keep it up!
