Laufey Lín Jónsdóttir, known by the mononym Laufey, is an Icelandic singer and songwriter. She released her debut EP, Typical of Me, in 2021. She describes her style as modern jazz. Laufey participated in The Voice Iceland in 2015.

Until hearing Laufey playing a cello as a rhythm accompaniment, I’d never thought of this song in a Latin Jazz or Bossa Nova structure but it is beautiful styled this way. And thank you for posting this breakdown of the chords and picking pattern.

i am new to guitar, how do you read the picking pattern/where is the picking pattern?

hi, thank you for your interest. I do like to spread my passion for guitar, however, this piece is not really for those new to guitar. One thing to note is I use the thumb for the root note of the chord and the rest of my fingers on the other strings. Are you familiar with pima fingering? That is what I used in my left hand.

@@StrumNchordsyes i've started to notice its not quite for beginners, but i love her version of this song too much to not try. im familiar with pima and i find that to be much easier to learn than the chords shapes, but i cant find where in the video there's something like tabs where it says when each note is being picked

@@olivertan8994 i think he meant to say right hand for pima. P=pulgar (thumb), i = index finger, m= middle finger, a= ring finger. Each finger gets a string. In this case, it's p, then ima (three strings at once), in the rythmn/pattern he's using
