I also lived a similar life. My school ranked 2nd on the HS NATs back in 2005. We also had to walk hours to get to and fro school. We had no computers, and most of us relied on a set of outdated encyclopedia from our library.I am thankful I was able to experience that. I am now a struggling law student in MNL and my ultimate goal is to help people like them. Poverty can be crippling, but we should capitalize on education for it is the greatest equalizer.

This documentary made me cry. I have learned a lot of great values upon watching this, I have realized that I'm an ungrateful b*tch. This has motivated me to do well on my studies and be grateful to all privileges I have. Kakatuwa lang na bata pa lang sila may direction na yung pananaw nila sa buhay and to all the teachers na nasa documentary thank you sa pagtuturo at pagtatyaga ( yung mga teachers ko kasi before ang bubully ). Sana may part 2 para malaman kung ano na ang ginagawa nila ngayon sa buhay.

I also experienced this kind of struggle during elementary, even during college nung time ng covid kasi naka online class. And I remember how we walked 3miles just to go to school, I really admire the principal that time because she make sure na makapasok parin kami sa school kasi alam nyang malayo nilalakad namin. There were also time na di ko madala baon ko galing sa bahay kasi 5am palang maglalakad na kami papuntang school kaya kahit malayo ihahatid parin ng tatay ko ang baon ko sa school para lang makakain ako. That is the reasons why I'm striving to finish kasi alam ko kung gaanong paghihirap ang naranasan ng parents ko para saaming magkakapatid despite na may hardship din kami, they have more. Ilang kalabaw na ang naibenta at lupa para lang mapagtapos dalawa kong ate, now ako nalang nag aaral at saludo ako sa suporta nila saakin. Keep dreaming, keep striving, kaya natin to mga kabataan. I'm so glad I saw this documentary nakaka inspire na nakakamiss ang elementary days ko kahit malayo pa. 😊

Matagal ko nang napanood ito pero pinanood ko ulit, dahil nkka tuwa ang mga guro, magulang at mga batang matyaga at mababait na bata. sana makapag tapos sila ng kanilang pag aaral at makamit ang mga pangarap. Modelo kayo ng lahat ng mga paaralan sa buong bansa.

Ganito ako nung elementary ako exactly perseverance and determination ,patience a pinched of loved and a shower of prayer to achieve our goals .......

Kudos to this teacher on her method of teaching. The children enjoy the learning process. I think western elementary schools should adapt this method of discipline. This is how it was in the past in the small town where I grew up. My mother was a grade one teacher and a very good one also. The children from small barrios walked long distance also to go to school and sometimes, the children who had to cross the river to get to school asked my mother if they can stay overnight with us during high tide. Children in small towns are models in behavior. Now that I see these kids it reminds me of how it was in the past and I'm so glad to see that these children of today still maintain their dreams, still very disciplined.

Hope local government pay attention to them and give them chance to continue their schooling by providing them free education..
