America doesn't have a housing problem, it has a greed problem. There's virtually no good reason for housing prices to have skyrocketed the way they did. And there are more than enough [abandoned] spaces that can either be built or renovated/decorated in order to give people a proper place to live. But impossible bureaucracy, zoning laws, and other obstacles make it so that more and more people find themselves in dire straits while working harder than ever to support themselves and their families. Stop catering to the rich and start caring about your citizens, USA.

Sadly most of your tax money goes to things rich people and politicians needs , not your local community or what’s needed for everyone, you’re giving the government back money so they can hoard for themselves and specific groups only :( I’ve seen people in both red and blue states live like this and it’s sad bc most people work their asses off and don’t get what they need and some just give up and let the streets take them over sadly , I had a teacher that was doing good and later on this year he’s on the street homeless and living in his car bc rent is to high , people who don’t have to worry ignore it and don’t say anything bc they’re getting the benefits instead
@snoopygonewilder
@snoopygonewilder Год назад
That's what I tell everyone, while a lot of people who are homeless do have mental problems and addiction (I never actually thought it was laziness) a lot of them are working homeless. They work full-time jobs, with okay pay, but can't afford to rent anything. I mean, you see this family with the 4 kids have a nice car, but they can't afford to rent anything, it seems so backward. Also, the fact that only one of them can work since childcare is so expensive, it's cheaper for the one that earns the least to stay home.

I've rented the same "old school" single wide 2 bedroom mobile on acreage in the woods for almost a quarter of a century. My landlord, a now-retired 6th generation dairy farmer who calls me a "lifetime tenant" and "the best tenant any landlord could hope for" and his family consider me "family" and I'm still only paying $600 a month. When I had stage 3 cancer 14 years ago they told me that no matter what happens they'd never put me out and I'd always have a roof over my head. They kept their word. I know my situation is very rare and I've never felt more grateful and fortunate.

You are fortunate indeed. My husband had a similar situation. His first wife became ill with liver failure early into their marriage and they had 4 kids to take care of in a blended family. They were renting a crappy single-wide trailer from an out-of-state landlord, who kindly allowed them to make interest-only payments when things were at their worst because they were good tenants who kept the place clean and always paid on time. His wife unfortunately died, but hubby eventually paid off the trailer and sold it - for the same price he paid for it - to a young family dealing with similar circumstances.

I can attest to this fact. I used to live in Huntsville and stayed at the EXACT same family shelter (first one shown) We had room 2. We left in 2019 to move to Michigan and never looked back. The way we could do this is my husband is a truck driver. My little girl was 4 at the time and could ride on the truck with us. So we packed up a few of our things and lived on an 18 wheeler for over a year. And now we are lucky to have our own home in Southeast Michigan. I still have nightmares about being homeless it has definitely traumatized me and my little family.

@little drane yeah, get fat off of the food that people are poisoned with, then go into debt with the medical bills they have to pay for the preventable diseases they have from the cancerous foods they’ve been eating, which is cheaper and pushed in lower income neighborhoods. Not to mention cigarette companies targeting people of lower income, especially those of color. What do poor people who see no way out and have high stress levels do? Oh yeah, smoke cigarettes and do drugs. I’m not saying that personal responsibility doesn’t exist, but most people are sheep; they live their lives in the way things have been laid out to them. Sure, individuals have the power to get themselves out of poverty and to make better choices, but societies don’t work at an individual level entirely. Humans are social creates that behave in a collective way, and to really change the system, things have to change from a structural societal level and not just with a few everyday individuals. It’s the same thing with climate change. Being a waste free, all organic, local buying individual will not remedy the climate crises. It goes beyond an individual level. The small minority of people at the top are largely to blame, while everyone else has no choice but to feed Into it the crises that’s been unscrupulously laid out upon them.

What's needed is the government having an account of all its residents and making sure there are affordable places to live, call "home." Living in a shelter isn't (AINT), the nicest experience ever! The trauma is real and nothing you should wish on anyone, unless they are at their very lowest point! Additionally, the government need to find a way to close its borders and guard it against illegal migration so it could "sort folks already living within the COUNTRY" and have a concrete account of folks coming in and how they're going to live. This situation and the accountability of it is crucial!

Although I do believe children are a blessing, I don’t understand why a couple in this situation would keep having more children, when the wife clearly said they’ve been struggling and in and out of homelessness for years. Since then, they had several more children. It’s clear these parents are working very hard to provide for their kids but I do wonder how the decision making process works when a couple is already broke, staying with family and unable to afford a home, yet wind up pregnant several more times. Certainly more affordable homes are needed, more skewers are needed, that’s all very clear. However, there must be personal responsibility too. If they get pregnant again while living in the shelter, it will be even harder to eventually find a way out.

He had to live in a hospital then medical rehabilitation center for over a year. It cost basically his entire savings. Lucky for us he started having kids young so my youngest sibling was 19 at this time and some of us already had careers of our own and could make sure the family was provided for. If he had waited to have kids until later in life like many people with careers do half of us would have been under 10 when this happened. We would be financially devastated and probably homeless.

Also, there should be government subsidies that underwrite childcare, as an investment in society and future generations. If I were a parent I’d take care of other people’s children, as a way to avoid paying for my own kids’ childcare and a way to earn a salary. @@MoneyMan28 it’s literally been proven that the world is becoming more and more underpopulated every decade. People back then used to have 5-10 children. In this day and age, they only have 1-2. Most people no longer want kids and most of the ones being conceived are being aborted.

I was really enjoying this until I saw the mom light up a cigarette on the porch. Luxuries are so rare and the cost of a pack of cigarettes is insane, not to mention the lung damage and example to little ones. I hope she can beat her habit.

I like the compassion and understanding energy in the comments. We don't see this enough for situations like these. People just give unwanted passive agressive advice as if the person in these videos see it.

THEY ARE LAZY!!!! It is VERY OBVIOUS!!!! This is America, there are MANY OPPORTUNITIES. They chose to not educate themselves & have bottom of the barrel jobs such as fast food but tet they are complaining. These people are taking NO….let me repeat that.NO🗣🗣🗣 responsibility for their lives!! They will FOREVER want handouts! The “husband” does not work while the woman barely works. There are MANY online & remote jobs & even part time jobs but they want to CONTINUE to ge FAT, LAZY & blame everyone else!!!!

Why would you have four children if you are working for minimum wage?

Exactly, please stop bringing more babies into the poverty you are living in! It’s a recurring cycle, they get more assistance when they have more children. We need to stop this cycle
