I had a good friend that was a driver and a cowboy poet. He would say that when he got home he had to start the lawnmower outside his window at night so he could sleep. He was murdered in Richmond, VA in a gang initiation related murder.
Man I love your channel and I love to listen to all the wisdom you have obtained out there on the road and it makes me more at ease to becoming a truck driver now that I have a Little but of a knowledge from you. Keep trucking and making these videos. I hope to meet you someday out there

Maybe start up a side business, LOL!! 🤣 And to all drivers no matter what you're operating, if you are past the white line at a stop sign or red light, you are an a-hole and are in the a-hole zone. Back up! Respect the line. It's there for a reason and not because the road crew had extra paint.
Pubic hair? For a beard ? 😂😂😂 Been to both of those places, the regulars there are always first, I always felt like I got the cold shoulder there myself, I’m ok with that, not saying it as a bad thing at all, I prefer not having to talk much. A trucker's life is not an easy one buddy. I know some people that were drivers and went thru the same stuff you do now. I know it's not easy by any means. Doesn't matter on good days because there is always something there to aggravate you friend.
@@OTRBandit Yes. Trucking has been really bad these last couple of years. So glad I finally retired from driving when I did. All of my truck driving buddies out there who are still driving have it really bad since freight rates went into the toilet. Damn brokers are robbing them blind. When I drove, I was just a lowly company driver. I was satisfied with doing just that. I drove strictly regional. 53 foot dry van, medium to heavy loads. Nothing over 42,000 pounds. When I retired, I was driving a Kenworth T600. Always enjoyed driving it.

I knew I was looking for a right word but my brain wasn’t processing it fast enough lol I always like to keep it open so it can dry out before next load. This load didn’t smell bad but there was condensation inside.

@@OTRBanditThe conveyor operator misjudged the distribution front to back and I was too heavy on my drives. I was at like 79,200 or something so I couldn't axle it out and had to climb in with a 5 gallon bucket and move 40 buckets of potatoes from the front to the back in 95° heat in a dry van !! Every try walking on a pile of potatoes carrying a pail full of them ?! Like walking on softballs !! Had to keep stopping and putting 50 gals. of fuel in at a time all the way to Rhode Island so as not to to be overweight ! The games we have to play sometimes 😂
Hey brother,You seem to be the guy to ask. What do you think about the great COE reemergence.? I busted my ass to get out of a COE in 87’ Never every wanted to go back in one. My dad drove on for GM for 44 years. Astro day cabs.2 neck and two back surgeries. These guys don’t know what they are doing.
Sometimes I am. I like to stay close to the house though so that I can be home every weekend. But I would consider myself long haul. I’ll go anywhere east of Denver that pays good but won’t go west of Denver.

Most of the driving you are doing is what we called Intrastate, not Interstate. That is driving a few sates and back again, you really don't do much of long haul driving. When i started back in 1982, i was long haul.
