"I would love to use OER, but..." Addressing Barriers to Free and Low-cost Learning Resources 

It's difficult for anyone to argue against the value of OER increasing student access, retention, and success. Unfortunately, many FCC faculty face barriers to utilizing free and low-cost learning resources. In this presentation, we identify common (perceived and real) barriers and resources to overcome these barriers. Using a panel of FCC faculty, we explore common barriers in detail, discuss real-world examples, and provide practical strategies for overcoming each barrier.
Viewers will gain insight into how to more effectively utilize the various forms of OER, work with their faculty colleagues in addressing OER concerns, and discover how OER enhances the learning experience while reducing costs for students.
