One can preach about letting go of expectations and opening your eyes to the possibilities, but this episode simply demonstrates the practice, and the rewards. From the opening scene to the final images, quite an arc.

What michaelmckeag960 said! Great modeling of working with what you've got...maybe start with 'meh' and end with 'yeah'. Motivating Adam, thanks.

The different patterns in the rocks, then water and then swirls were quite interesting. It amazes me that when we go out with a bit of openness to what might be instead of being focussed on what we think it should be, we find so much more than we might have otherwise engaged with. It does unlock a sense of creative play. Makes me feel like a kid again! Play, wonder, creativity, joy. . . . .

Wow, wow! Adam, absolutely loved your abstract rock and water images. These are some of my favourite images from you. It looks like you have creatively played around with colour and white balance in post and not just by simply pushing up saturation. This adds to the appeal. One of the great things about the light being less than optimal for the bigger landscape is it forces you to try something different. This is a good lesson to us all.

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade - or in this case, abstracts! Gorgeous! And the rainbow was a real bonus. I loved what you said about not always being successful because that's how we improve.

A great lesson in this video Adam...along with fabulous images! Those of us who don't live anywhere near a beautiful waterfall like this may only get one opportunity to visit such a place. It the light's lousy, don't give in to the frustration. Do what Adam Gibbs would do and come back home with some special images! Thanks!

Why did you chose ISO 400 in the pattern images? I noticed the shutter speeds of 1/30 to 1/50 at f16. I could ask the same question about those very nice water flow details at ISO 250.
@QuietLightPhoto
@QuietLightPhoto Месяц назад
No particular reason they are just random. In many cases the iso, shutter speed and f stop stop are not really that important as long as the exposure is correct. With the GFX iso 100 to 800 all looks pretty much the same.
