Leon vs belal was actually a good fight. Leon was startching him when they first fought and belal got a tko (edit: in one of) his last fight against undefeated Sean Brady. I feel like people hate to hate but that's lowkey a good fight

@kaisac8430 sorry I mean to put one of his last fights but that burns fight wasn't even that bad. It looked like an okay performance but leon and belal have styles that clearly bring the best out of each other. It's either going to be domination by leon or belal will try to go toe to toe with leon.

Yan is a bit boring until the later rounds when he begins to rev up his engine to be fair. That’s his biggest problem. So I can see why he would be prelim.

The only hope for this card is for Khabib to come back and fight Colby. I’m being dead serious. Women fights are usually terrible or one of the best in their short history, no in between.
@@markuskidd546Not true it’s a great card. Lucas literally wanted Sergei vs Aspinall which happened already, Sean vs Khamzat, Izzy vs DDP, Usman vs JDM, and Song vs Umar. That’s not a better main card at all it’s literally not even close. They gave us better fights then what fans suggested.

I think the bigger problem is that nobody wants to fight if it isn’t a ranked meaningful fight. Nobody wants to fight for the love of the “300” card with the exception of a few fighters.

Casual take here. The way Lucas feels about these mediocre matchups is how I feel about 90% of the UFC roster. I only care about the big names and exciting fighters, and only ever tune in for the main events, and watch highlights of any other fights on RU-vid, IF they look interesting.

Goddamn right Lucas, anybody saying our hopes were too high gets nullified with Dana himself saying before any fights were announced that we were “not gonna believe even the first fight on the card and the curtain jerker would be a shocker of the magnitude of it.” That’s not verbatim but it’s definitely what he implied and I like many was dumb enough to believe it. But when the boss hypes it up that way and weeks later we get what we have, it’s a disappointment anyway you slice it and it’s pretty much all of his and the matchmakers doing when you hyped it up like that. Another argument is that the UFC doesn’t have the star power that it did in 2016 but if star power is something you may not have at the moment, it’s undeniable that they can still make way better and more fun matchups for such a monumental card and they haven’t. I’m just repeating your sentiment but it’s spot on and you Mr. Lucas are one of the best MMA YTers out now so please keep it up but it’s a shame that 300 is “trending” this way as Dana would say. It’s not too late to trade three of those WMMA fights for a Conor return, Izzy Vs DDP and Aspinall Vs anyone. But that’s not fucking happening sadly. I truly apologize for the length of this comment.

It’s a well known fact that there’s a significant drop in skill in the women’s divisions as you go down the rankings. A top 10 women’s fighter with a 50 percent finish rate does not belong on a once in a decade card. If you think it does then do u want more women added as well?

With all of the great fights going on between now and UFC 300, I just find it so strange that some of them weren't taken from their respective cards and put on to UFC 300 to stack it more. I think I would personally rather watch 298 and 299 over watching UFC 300. As a regular UFC card it's good, but its certainly not a once in a decade Milestone event caliber

Pennington and Bruna Silva are to blame for this. After that shit fight the UFC executives realized they had lost all credibility for women’s mma. They are now scrambling to find some woman that can throw hands to save the sport and prevent Strickland’s dream of women returning to the kitchen coming to fruition.
Even the good fights have weird matchmaking, Kattar vs Sterling is stupid it should have been Ortega & so is Charles vs Arman one of them should be fighting Islam for the title on 300

I’m a woman and I can watch maybe one or two WMMA fights each card (truth be told I usually walk my dogs during them) but come on, what are they doing with this card???? Bro this is becoming pretty true of all big corporations, not just ufc. They just don’t listen to the fans and consumers time after time. Exploiting our retention by promising elite fighters we wanna see but not even justifying their spot in the card with a half thought out match up. We wanna see fights that excite us but also make some amount of sense. It makes you wonder where these companies agenda’s are at when they won’t even appeal primarily to their target audience. In UFC’s case it’s men and we typically don’t prefer the women’s division, there’s nothing wrong with that. The women’s division has its place in the sport but the over saturation of it is really the problem and makes you think if the ufc even knows who’s watching their sport. Cards like this just influence people to bust open a stream to see the one or two fights that actually interest them, there’s no way you could pay full price for a card like this and be ok with it. The ufc is not helping themself when all they need in order to do so it open up a comment section and see what real fans of the sport have to say.
I agree. If they're making the biggest fights in WMMA then I'd be fine with 2 but no one wants to see mid women fights on the biggest fight card in history
Cody brundage is a genius for taking the bo nickel fight. Bo doesnt punch so he'll get submitted in about a minute. He gets a paycheck, no damage and gets to fight on ufc 300.
I've gotta say, I agree with Lucas. UFC 300 fight card is so disappointing. At this point I'll take Belal vs Leon over any of the fights that were announced by Dana. 🤦🏻
