For me the pressure of having to write everyday would actually block me mentally... Also, my schedule is too flexible, and I have trouble getting out of bed every day, so writing at the same time every day is not an option for me. So instead, I simply try to write as often as I can. It still gets me around 4 days a week. If I am stuck on a scene, I shift focus to outlining, worldbuilding or character arc design or whatever else I would eventually need to work on anyway - it usually gives me the direction the scene would need to go in. At times, I have a scene in mind, which I write down to add later, or even elements which might not end up in the book in the end but show a character's back story - which would later help me to understand that character better. I am still a beginner, and I know that what I do might be all over the place, but it releases pressure from me, when I do not focus on simply writing a chapter after chapter - there is a tons of work and research which needs to be done to write a good book and I count it as "writing" as well - even though these specific words do not end up between the covers it still contributes to the story in general.

@@Bougie_Nerd oh, yeah? Have you tried writing for like 15 minutes when it’s starting to feel hard? I read on James Clears website that it takes 66 days to form a new habit, so if you write for 66 days it might become easier after that? It did for me.

Wow! This is such an achievement. I tend to write in bursts, not necessarily every day.
