The zombies sold by targeting the stick guy. If they just tongued you the stick guy would be forced to either keep running and let you die or try and save you knowing he will die. If he saves you then you don't have anyone left to save you since he would definitely be dead. If he just let you die then scream spam would kill him. Then all they'd have to do is wait for a scream then pounce or tongue you and it would be GG.
