Former Finance Minister P Chidambaram in conversation with India Today TV's Rajdeep Sardesai at the India Today Conclave 2019. Chidamabaram said that the government was claiming credit for airstrikes carried out by the Indian Air Force (IAF) in Pakistan, stressing that his own Congress party behaved exemplarily.

In my opinion he asked the right questions. There was a valid argument that Rajdeep put out about earlier terrorist attacks during UPA govt. None of the UPA leaders had a backbone to face the attacks. Chidambaram for instance, very conveniently said that none of these attacks were linked back to Pakistan...what the HELL?? The 26/11 was enough of an attack whose responsibility was taken by LaT and it was clearly a Pak based terrorist organisation. Why the hell even a simple "Routine Cross Border Action" as Mr Chidambaram named it, didn't take place in 2008?? And lastly Chudambaram is ready to take the credit for the 1971 IAF attacks and when NDA govt. even mentions about it, everybody looses their fucking retarded mind. Now tell me, had this IAF operation after Pulwama failed, who would UPA govt blamed? Modi right?

Sitting in an air conditioned room and barking orders is comparatively easier than carrying them out. Our boys have done a fine job and the credit completely goes to the IAF. As for the credit, for taking the decision, as Mr. Chidambaram said, only time will tell, if the course was right or wrong. Even though Imran may want peace, there are those in Pakistan who have a mentality of settling scores, hence, Mr. Vajpayee and Mr. Singh's undertaking for deescalation and pursuit of peace negotiations was the right thing to do, the result of which was the influx of tourists back in to Kashmir, and a semblance of normalcy returning to the valley. The Indian Air Force (IAF) is a strategic asset of India; and has to be used to strengthened to protect India and its citizens. The citizens of India entrust their faith democratically to a political party as the one which is responsible for managing the IAF. If the BJP led Govt has taken steps to strengthen the IAF and used it in military strikes against Pakistani backed terrorists, then the credit for taking such decisions has to shared between the BJP and the IAF. When the Congress led Govt was in power, it took no steps to strengthen the IAF nor did it take any action against the terrorists after the Mumbai 2008 attacks. This shows that Mr. P Chidambaram has no moral right to question the BJP led Govt or doubt the capability of the IAF.

Former Home&Finance minister P.Chidambaram had dealt with the war mongering,muscular & Modi fans of Indian English TV channels, particularly Sardesai, appropriately that how a matured govt should handle the grave situation with out escalating a war. The Modi govt's tall claims of 300 terrorists killed in the dark early morning air strike by our IAF, is refuted by the world premier TV channels & print media. The Modi govt unnecessarily involved IAF for their own political propaganda and made contraversy of the brave IAF's daring air strike. Now, even the 2 families of Phulwama victim is asking the proof for killing 300 terrorists! Will the 56" chest thumping Modi provide the undisputed, concreated & ground tested proof to the Phulwama victims' families?

useless fellows with useless conversation. Yes, IAF does not belong to BJP. But It is BJP that used the IAF effectively. You (congress) are the fellows who shrunk the Indian map (POK). I dont say BJP is completely perfect (well, nobody is perfect). But BJP is a million times better than Congress.

The AIR strikes are Planned & executed by the THREE Forces. The GO command to strike is the prerogative of the Head of Govt IF the strike had failed for argument sake, would Mr Modi be held responsible?. Definately not The Air Force would be held responsible,So also the credit should go to The Air Force.
