its weird how some people don't think you have a "real job" if you're not some corporate slave to some random company that robs you of your life and spirit with shoving paperwork and being stuck in some dead-atmosphere cubicle. being happy with the career we make for ourselves is not something we should apologize about.

it's so weird to see ryan so serious.. it's like he has 2 personalities- the childish, loud and outgoing one and the reserved, quiet and serious one. he's always so different in interviews- I love both sides of him

How could you even dislike this video?

I'm not Asian, I'm half Black African Nigerian and half White American, but I still want to see more Asian's on TV including West Asian's. Go Asians! I know you don't need my support but I support you anyway.

I kept thinking that he was going to break out and fast talk, make puns and crack jokes...

I'm not Asian, I'm white, but I do hate that TV is so racist and has so little diversity. And when they use people of different races from white, or different sexual orientations they usually go with stereotypes, and they're never the main character. It's such a shame that there's so little diversity in American tv especially towards Asian Americans. RU-vid proves it how much talent there's out there that TV and cinema aren't using. I remember reading about Vanness Wu a few years ago when I was watching Taiwanese dramas that he was an Asian American, born and raised in the US, who didn't speak Chinese and yet he moved to Taiwan to create a career there, and became one of the biggest stars in Asia (and eventually learned to speak better Chinese). Why does an American have to go all the way to Asia to make it as an artist, as an actor, I really don't get it. That's why I see the future of tv on things like RU-vid, Yahoo, Netflix. As long as it's the people who decide and not production companies run by white old dudes. Sidenote, please support John Cho in his new sitcom Selfie on ABC, this fall where he plays the lead male character, that rarely happens for an Asian American to play the lead romantic character in an American tv show, unfortunately, so please support him and help the show become successful!

It's cool that I see many Asian RU-vidrs and I can't help feeling proud. I also like other celebrities/RU-vidrs, but to see your own people, Asians, for example, being famous and appreciated by everyone, it's something. It's not a competition about who is better at this or that, but to be able to represent your own culture is something anyone should be proud of. This is an inspiring video. I'd been watching Nigahiga for five years now (starting from his How to be's to his Skitzo's to his Dear Ryan's to his Movies in Minutes' and now his Teehee time's), and I know Ryan deserves to be where he is right now. He makes videos that really are entertaining. And you could actually see him enjoying what he's doing in the videos from the BTS and pretty much from all his videos.

I can not find the time and talent to do the thing he does. His vidoes are just amazing. "Mommy when i grow up i wanna be just like him :)"

Ryan is the first RU-vidr I watched and is still my favorite.

I feel like 5 years later RU-vid's changed... asians are a minority again with all the viners that became MASSIVE on youtube. It's not as bad as Hollywood but asians are definitely a minority or a niche community in comparison to the BIG youtubers. And I say this while actively trying to subscribe to every asian channel I find that makes good content. It'd be hard for anyone who hasn't grown up feeling unrepresented or bullied for being asian and it makes me worry. At the same time I see Hollywood changing a little ever since Crazy Rich Asians and BTS... idk, times are changing but the last 2 years, I went from feeling okay as an american to feeling like an outcast again.

I'm Asian, and I truly understand how it feels. I also have a RU-vid channel, it's really hard to keep up... I am SO proud of all these people in #IAm. All of them worked so hard to become who they are right now... It is amazing how strong people can be, even if they were or still are discriminated, they continue to fight their way.

1:26 yes. It sounds clishe, but the more you experience things in that area the more you realize it is true. Maybe your biggest dream won't become your job, but what's the second closest? What is it that *maybe* isn't even a tipical job, but you can *turn* around to become a job for you? What is it that you can work and enjoy outside of work too? What is it you're interested in? Being a translator isn't my very first choice, BUT thankfully I realized aiming for that gives me the opportunity to do two things l enjoy way too much - learning languages and teaching. Plus, I do enjoy translating. So next year instead of starting my study in medicine I will either go to Japan for six months, start my study in Translation or take a year off and work where I am - in Austria, reading books to perfect my German. (I'm Bulgarian.) And it may not sound exciting to you, but when *I* think of it I get sooooo syked! I might even start youtube. ^^ I initially wanted to start youtube for comedy, but thought I'd never have enough ideas to do it often, but now I have many other ideas beside comedy. So yeah. :) Things are adding up! I needed like a whole year of thinking outside of the box to figure it out - it hit me all at once. (In a way though, it took me my whole life.) SO! Think! Think often, think a lot, be bold!
