Out of every Star Wars actor, I feel like he’s embraced the fanbase’s favorite quotes the most. And It’s a hundred times better that it’s the Sheev of all people lol
I had the honor of meeting Ian in person. He is such an awesome guy, I got him to say "Welcome to the Dark Side" in Emperor Palpatine voice it was awesome. He is very down to earth and it's easy to see why he has such a huge fan base.
I'm going to this voices against cancer thing, he, sam witwer, Emily swallow and Katie sackoff will all be there!! I'm in south dakota so this is really huge, can't wait to walk up to him and say "I've been waiting a looooong time, for this moment. My Lord" *insert kneel 😅😊
Having worked in Hollywood for many years, I can tell you that there are actors who understand that they are nothing without their fans and people paying to see them, and those who don't. Ian is one who understands this.
I just had an amazing dream, and the fact that this video showed up as the very first one in my RU-vid feed today is just too perfect, I must share it! In the dream, my family was awarded the chance to host a kind of week-long reunion of the entire Star Wars cast! And Ian McDiarmid was the one I talked with the most. I even got to share with him that I'm a writer, and he took a genuine interest in my stories, and offered me some storytelling tips to better my work. I really felt like he took me under his wing, it was so sweet, it meant the world to me. In the end, after we saw everyone off, Ian was the last one at our house because we needed to give him a lift to the airport for him to get home. I was so engrossed in talking to him that I completely forgot that I have something for him; it's a little keychain that looks like a Reno Nevada license plate, with his name on it. I got it for him back in 2019, in hopes that one day I'll meet him and give it to him. In the dream, I didn't get to give him the gift, but I did something else that I think is much more important: In my upbringing, my passions for writing and storytelling were not approved by my then household, something I know Ian and I have in common because his father didn't approve of him wanting to be an actor. That and we just love the arts in general, and I've always felt like I had kindred spirits in people like him despite not personally knowing them. So I personally thanked him for how much I consider him to have done for me, being who he is and being an inspiration to people like me, and for just being a sweet guy. He was so touched by it that he pulled me in for a long hug and he said, "Oh, thank you, sweetheart," and peck kissed me on the cheek. He was like the grandfather I always wanted, and I just hugged him back, happy as could be. 🥹🤗💙🕊️ Anyway, sorry for the length of this comment, but I felt like now, and underneath this video, was just too perfect a time to share this, right after I just freshly woke up from it. For those of you who read this to the end, thank you, and blessings on your day. 🤗💙🕊️
I’m not even monetized bro. Also I know this isn’t my original video but I gave credit in the description and have you ever heard of a “Clip”? Clearly you haven’t because I’m clipping a moment from the event like other RU-vidrs do as well.
McDiarmid was the best part of the prequels, by far. His acting was unsurpassed. And I can't even tell you a single movie this man has been in besides Star Wars.
I think Palpatine's dialogue wasn't that bad in the prequels. It was everyone else, namely Padme and Anakin. Hayden was a great actor for Anakin....wasn't his fault Lucas gave him crap dialogue and a plot-hole filled motive for turning dark.
You can tell how appreciative & amazed he is by the fans’ continued reaction & acknowledgement. Hard working stage actor who is being received like a rock star.
I'm happy for him. He only enjoys the atmosphere. Yeah, Star Wars fanbase is a piece of shit and full of people who can't criticize and just have to be a pack of racist scum. But in the same time all they need is repeating the same lines one time and another, and one more time. "You know that face! You know that line!" - that's what is the new Disney's way for they shitty Star Wars fans. Nonetheless, it's good that Mr Ian is happy and just enjoys that situation.
