Iatrogenic Uterine Perforation || Ultrasound || Case 200
Clinical Features:
Around 27 years old female patient came with
- Severe acute lower abdominal pain, developed just after a D & C procedure.
- Difficulty in movement.
Ultrasound Findings:
- Bulky uterus with heterogeneous echotexture.
- Hypoechoic collection adjacent to the right lateral wall of the uterine body which is continuous with an irregular hypoechoic collection within the myometrium due to a breach in the continuity of the adjacent right lateral perimetrium.
- Mixed echogenic areas within the uterine cavity, possibly blood clots with/or retained products.
- Catheter within the urinary bladder.
- Bilateral hydronephrosis, more on the right, possibly due to the pressure effect over the distal ureters.
