Some of the notes sound like they come an almost unnoticeable amount of time later than they're supposed to be... like the winding of a music box is unsteady... and it's one of those imperfections in something that makes something perfect.
My head cannon is that when ib got older and had a child, she bought Mary's painting and the child sometimes talked to the painting, which made Mary feel less lonely.

I believe the only ending where Ib escapes without burning Mary's painting involves Mary killing Garry and then entering the real world to become Ib's "sister" or something of the sort (I may be wrong, and there are other endings where Ib escapes and Mary lives). But still a very interesting and sweet headcanon nonetheless; I support it!

@@maryeliza2225 Look miss I’ll admit I exaggerated *a bit*, but if I was ib, and I had to pick between the guy who saved my life or the painting lady that almost killed me, it’s not a very complicated choice. She was born to be crazy in there, but she was still pretty sinister even when things were going her way. She’s a cool and intimidating villain, and it’s fun to decipher what was made by her, and what was made by her father, but ya know there are some choices out there that are easier than others.
I think I missed the joke but how do you relate to a reanimated painting that's suffering loneliness of being trapped in world full of monsters being there for so long you lost your mind. How... Do you relate to that? Or you just meant relate because you have the same name as her?
I'd like to point out that unlike every other song in the game, this is a midi. Midis are computer generated, not actual recordings. It's a fake. It's not _real_ instruments. Awfully fitting.
seeing that sketchbook world actually made me kinda sad to be honest after seeing Mary in it and the toy box idk just sounds like a poor little girl who was abandoned (considering some of the images of her playing with the dolls or holding their hands) and how no one else but Ib ,Garry and Mary can really be seen in most of the game though in that book it said she was an unfinished piece of art
I know I’m years late, but people seem to get the notion that because Mary has a tragic life, that makes her “not evil” or “not the bad guy”. While I certainly agree that it isn’t as simple as her being a mustache twirling supervillain, nothing and I repeat NOTHING, not even mental illness or a sad backstory, justifies even half the stuff she did in this game. Her goals were sympathetic, absolutely, but her actions were nothing more than relentless pain on innocent people. It’s not that I don’t feel for her, but people (and since it’s been years, I hope they realized by now) need to realize that she WAS the bad guy, she WAS in the wrong. It’s okay to accept that part and still love Mary.
She was in the wrong that's for sure. But she was a little girl all alone, who didn't really have a notion of what's good or bad. Her father died and thus left her be trapped forever. The only ones who were here to educate Mary were those evil and insane paintings and dolls who turned her insane as well. So yes, I'm sad for Mary and I think it wasn't really her fault. The best thing to do was to burn her painting so she don't have to suffer this life anymore.
most ppl aint capable of dealing wit such levels of moral ambiguity honestly; like, in order for mad ppl to fully sympathize wit marys desperate ass, they necessarily gotta downplay her evilass vile actions. to put it anotha way, her dilemma was sympathetic but her behaviors was sociopathic
She reminds me more of something that resembles a SCP than a human but because of her human appearance it's very easy for her to manipulate the emotions of her audience both in game and as a player. She knows not right and wrong because its a human construct she only has an instinct or desire, that's my theory anyway.
It's exactly because of her selfishness and lack of remorse that I find her such an interesting character. AND it makes sense - the lonely museum is all she's ever known, why would she act like a morally upright person, when she's not even exactly human? She's a tragic character, but she's also not a good person and her actions aren't justifiable and those things can coexist.
Notice these three things... 1. Ib's head is so dangerously close the Garry's crotch... 2. Garry looks like he's peeking into Ib's skirt... 3. Mary winking suggestively. Ehhhh
In the end, Mary has always been alone and suffering, but once someone finally entered her world, it meant everything to her. Ib was her first and only friend. The only time she ever felt joy, fun and love. But in the end Garry just rushed in and took Ib from her. And she was just hated for what she was. Then she felt such rage and madness for the first time too for having that taken from her. It was not fair. Why wouldn't she have the right to love, but Garry would ? Now she's just descending more and more into madness, overwhelmed by envy and hatred. Mary is such a tragic and sad character. You'll always be my fav in this game. You deserved better.
I feel like I am the only one he who actually feels bad for Mary and likes her. I would have liked the ending if Garry and Ib and Mary all were friends and escaped the world together.

Mary loves the dolls in there. She mentioned they were adorable and cute, and she also says she loves the art museum. So, I don't think she hated the art gallery. Though, Mary is my favorite character, she's sweet and adorable. That yandere thing made me fall in absolute love with her and her character.
i recently discovered another song from this game, the main title, and it was extremely pleasing. i went up to search it up and i listened to this song. when i heard it, i said “wait, i think i remember this?” so making me know that there is a song that i haven’t heard in almost 5 years, and it was this one. the last time i heard it was from a fnaf animator from finland. i don’t remember their name however. i find it odd because I’ve heard of ib from a nintendo direct and i thought the art style was nice. i’m looking forward to more about this game.

I can imagine Ib and Mary dancing and Gary comes to ask Ib to dance with him,and Mary watching them gets more tense and clutches the pallet knife behind her back.

Anyone else not have this hatred or disliking for Mary? Sure, I'm not too happy on her removing Garry just for her own benefit, but it's a whole different story when you're in her shoes. Imagine living in a bizarre world with nothing but yourself to keep company. She became desperate for a new place - youthful and eager to run around than to stay still. Ib became her only friend and yes, rivalries will exist amongst groups. Mary vs. Garry basically, though it doesn't really make up for it.

what exactly is Mary. according to the game she wasn't based on a person or anything. but if that's the case how exactly did she come to life. i think it's that Guertena was a schizophrenic and Mary was his first painting and he thought of her as a real girl and he probably considered her his daughter and then he started eventually through therapy he managed to get over it and decided to become a professional artist and almost completely forgot about her. however what Guertena didn't know was that his imagination was too powerful and Mary had gotten a life of her own but she wasn't truly alive but left alone with the creations that replaced her to her they were monsters. as for her connection with Ib she's probably Guertena's great granddaughter and thus Mary considers her a sister and thus has the ability to reach out to her. and as for Garret, he could possibly be the reincarnation of Guertena
Also, Guertena died just several years before the start of Ib and there is no indication that he's connected to Ib in any way. Gary (or Garret, if you prefer it that way) is most probably not related to Guertena in any way either.
1 more thing. Mary did not seem bothered by the art people just her world. After all, when Mary and ib were separated from garry NOTHING ATTACKED THEM DIRECTLY, BUT GARRY HAD TO WORRY ABOUT THOSE FREAKING DOLLS. Mary is the ruler of that world.
Mary is part of the art gallery. There were made by one dude. He drew paintings and stuff and gave them part of his soul so he can make them real. So he's kinda like a father. Mary was the last painting until he died. So the paintings and stuff were all made by him so kinda makes them a family. Ib is the main character.
I know that. Doesn't change the fact Mary only called Red a family title. And she was beating the fuck out of a mannequin head with a pallette knife one time. Doesn't seem to see them as family to me.
I think I can solve your problem, Mary! There are two Marys because I'm sure Guertena made a reproduction of his favorite painting! ^.^ As for the two Garrys... One of them is the evil one that tried to keep Ib in the Unfabricated World... Dun-Dun-DUUUUN
In one of the original endings Mary escapes and poses as Ib's sister (Garry has to die for this ending to proc). In one of the new 1.04 endings Mary escapes on her own, but is trapped in the Gallery.
Also I really like all 3 but there are times where I despise Mary for some things she does. But when I start despising her I always listen to her theme and I instantly feel bad for the hate. I wish someone made......a sequel.:-)
