how is the magnetic field moving clock wise when the current is pointing upwards? can anyone explain please?

at 14:29 (that question), it says that it is a "current carrying solenoid", therefore there will be current passing through it. So from the right-hand rule of current carrying wire, shouldn't the current be pointing in-line with the axis of the solenoid? I don't understand this part :(

@ 9:03 - 9:09, did you actually said, clockwise direction? or counter c?
@donerphysics

I should have said counter clockwise, but don't focus on clockwise or counter clockwise as this really depends on which side you are looking from. Focus on the hand rule.

Why is B earth perpendicular to Bsolenoid at time 14:53 ??
@donerphysics
@donerphysics 6 лет назад
Earth's field points north. Solenoid lies east -west.

I am confused by the current directions in the solenoid. i thought it was th other way

What point in the video are you referring to? Are you using your right or left hand?
@olivermoes-okun2468

i think i was confused because there was no indication of which side current came in and which it went out. i watched it again though and think it makes sense now. thanks for your videos they are a big help

Right thumb points to the direction of B field. Fingers curl in the direction of current. This is the Right hand grip rule.
