Hi this was a funny but informative video. I have the exact iron too and it tripped our house electrics too! Took it apart and the thermostat was rusty and the contacts stuck together. Am going to try to fix it without killing myself.....

I don't care to iron but on rare occasions I will. I'm not so good at it but my rowenta has helped make up for my poor ironing skills. The electrical mishaps certainly made this more interesting, my husband is even watching the advent series with us and enjoyed the "excitement".

I thought about getting a Dyson without the ball any thoughs on what I should get?

I also loathe ironing so I've tried to make it as tolerable as possible by getting good equipment. I bought a really stable ironing board and I have a few good irons but my favorite is a T-fal with the porcelain Airglide soleplate. It just glides. But I still don't like ironing.

I got a numatic Henry hvr200-11 and it came with the new carpet head but with a metal base plate

I'm guessing the water is dripping on the element or the element is faulty
