This is very exciting for me. I just bought a similar S 470 for a really good price. Also needs a whammy bar (already added) and the same kind of rusty screws / selector switch / etc. as yours. I am really excited to see where you go with this.
Curtis I have had this guitar for years now and it has been a nice little workhorse. It is ding up and beat up but I love those s470's. They are great used guitars for the money. I completed the upgrades way back and replaced most of the screws and "metal" parts and pieces one at a time. This old beater needs a fret job in a pretty bad way but I know that the money I'd spend to have it re-fretted could really go towards adding another guitar to the collection. Lol. Thanks for watching.
@@jem550 You sound like me. I have a few sweet guitars, but I plan on cleaning this beauty up, selling it and a Jackson and moving towards a complete upgrade. Never selling the Les Paul, Strat or Martin but these are fun to play and flip.
Quick update, so far everything is working. Pickups sound crappy and replacements have been ordered. Decided to go with Dimarzio Gravity Storm in the Neck and Bridge. Still deciding on the middle pickup. Also just found out a second s470 project will be started this year as well. Actually getting back an older s470 I owned many years ago from a close friend and will update that project once I get the guitar back and start the journey of re-building an old "friend". Looks like 2015 may turn to be a year of guitar projects.
