My first decent bass was an GSR205SM, and still one of my favorites. 100% worth the price tag, this thing will last you a long while, whether you're a beginner or an advanced player, its a great choice.
I have one and it is truly extraordinary for a low price bass with a great tonal range. Beats the cr*p out of my '65 Bison Bass for versatility, if not savagery!
I loved watching this! Your content is great and your presence and voiceover is really soothing. I'm a little disappointed this is the only video of its kind on your channel - I would definitely watch these for other instruments!
I never would have thought they were passive pickups with a battery. I learned something new. Although I am a guitar player, that rule about the battery doesn't apply to us haha
Greetings Gregory, I recently bought a second-hand one, I don't know if it is the same model as yours, since it has Jazz-type pickups, and its sound is very good. I compared it in a video I made with a Yamaha rbx 374 and despite not to put new strings on them, it performed very well.
At 7:41 I wish I could figure out what the word is you said about the battery “So I went and “triffed” it with the battery” I’m guessing your not saying the word “triffed” but that’s what it sounds like ?. My reason for asking is I have one of these bass’s and I’m unclear weather you disconnected the battery but then you also said “replaced” I watched this video more than a few times and I’m still and unsure if if eliminated the battery completely and made the bass totally passive or not ?
What would be the tuning problem for the 5th. bass string, I use the tuner "TUN-E Chormatic Tuner" and the truth even broke the string, I replaced it but again it does not reach the note of "B"
The difference between the sound of this instrument and a similar expensive style bass no one would be able to tell other than bass nerds. Even then, if you played it very well on a song those bass nerds might think it was an expensive instrument as well.
Build quality was great on mine But pickups preamp sucked so I put EMG X series pickups and btc prepamp in it Made it a tone monster sounds great cuts thru the mix cost me 330 for the EMG stuff but I only paid 140 for the. Bass used in perfect condition Otherwise stock they sound crappy
Someone is selling this for 260 $ and it's less than a year old and they bought it new for $410. Would you say it's worth it? I can also "retune" it for free at the store until autmn, but idk anything about that
