I never understood the importance of learning the Arabic language. Especially, as a person who lives and spent their whole lives in the middle-east until I watched this meaningful, insightful and very educational lecture. As well as amazing biography video for Sheikh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah may Allah have mercy on Him. I am excited to learn more from Abdulrahman Hassan and I ask Allah to preserve him. He is a gem to today's ummah!
May Allah have mercy on the beloved Shaykhul Islam Ibn Taymiyyah. And may He سبحاته وتعالى bless our Ustadh Abdulrahman Hassan and grant him knowledge like Shaykhul Islam. I love to listen to the biographies of the great Imams and Ulema ... this was beautiful, I didn't want it to end!
Ḥafīdh Ibn Kathīr who was one of the closest students of Ibn Taymiyyah mentions in al-Bidāya wa'l Nihāya vol. 14 what happened. He told that when Ibn Taymiyyah passed away, he (Ibn Kathīr) sought permission to enter the room where his body was laid. He saw the students of Ibn Taymiyyah reciting the Qur'ān before giving him ghusl and then the students sought 𝐛𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐡 by looking at him (𝐳𝐢𝐲𝐚̄𝐫𝐚𝐡), and even started to kiss him (for 𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐮𝐤). When the men left, the women came and they started to do the same and kissed him as well! What happened after all of this is shocking. The people started drinking the Ghusl water of Ibn Taymiyyah. Then Ibn Kathīr further on mentions that he saw his teacher Ibn Taymiyyah wearing a 𝐓𝐚'𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐡 on his neck for the protection of lice which he had. Then the people who were present put the Ta'wīdh for auction, so it could be sold to the highest bidder.
Akhi, since Al Ghazaali is considered such an important figure why not do a similar talk on him?!? After all isn't "Al Ibaanah" one of his works?!? Doesn't that put him, THE INDIVIDUAL, on the same aqeedah of Shaikh ul Islam ibn tamiyyah?!?
Al Ghazaali was an aalim no doubt. He studied ilmul kalam and was upon the madhaab of the ashaa'irah. Alhamdullilah he repented and died upon ahlus sunnah. It was mentioned he died with bukhari on his chest. This was the first time he came across bukhari.
What about Ibn Taymiya's dogma of:- 01. Three tawhid? 02. That Allah can fly sitting on a mosquito? 03. That The Prophet saw Allah in Mi'raj and Allah was a young boy? Do not fool yourself and Muslims by elevating Ibn Taymiya who is judged my learned as "KAFIR" from his own writings. He is not Shaikhul-Islam but of Kufr. Laanatullah alaa Ibn Taymiya.
