As it stands right now, France has lost its grip on the Sahel and is losing its influence on the rest of Africa. This is good news for Africans who have suffered under France's influence for centuries. However, France is not happy about this defeat as its rise to superpower status was heavily reliant on its hold on Africa. They are attempting to regain their influence, but it seems unlikely as the end of France Afrique is here. France's relationship with Africa has taken a backseat due to the military juntas in the Sahel dealing a serious blow to France. On the other hand, the relationship between the United States as well and Africa has recently come under scrutiny due to Niger's decision to expel U.S. forces, and Chad's potential follow-up action to do the same. These moves reflect a growing trend in the Sahel, where African leaders are taking control of their countries' sovereignty. However, not everyone is pleased with this shift. For instance, former French military general François Lecointre expressed frustration at the idea that one of the world's poorest countries could expel the military forces of two superpowers in just one year. He went ahead to suggest that Europe should once again recolonize Africa even if it takes the use of Military force. Lecointre's comments just go ahead to further underscore the fact that Europe and the West are not necessarily allies of Africa. Any African leader who thinks otherwise is being misguided and shortsighted. However, without any surprise, the courageous leader of Burkina Faso, Ibrahim Traore, has responded to this statement with force by making bold statements and taking measures to prepare for any possible attempts by France and Europe to recolonize Burkina Faso and Africa, as suggested by Lecointre. Traore's resolute stance is a clear indication that he will not bow down to any foreign pressure or infringement on his country's sovereignty, not even in the future. The leader's unwavering commitment to protecting his nation from any form of neo-colonialism is admirable and serves as a beacon of hope for other African countries. Traore's actions demonstrate his leadership and determination to ensure that Burkina Faso and Africa remains an independent and self-governing body, free from any external influence or interference and we encourage other African leaders to follow suite. But what did Ibrahim Traore say and what are the plans he has put in place? Let’s find out.
