Rosatom and Burkina Faso expand nuclear cooperation through new agreements.
Three memorandums of understanding (MOUs) were signed between Rosatom and the Burkina Faso Ministry of Energy, Mines & Careers on the sidelines of the St Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2024),
The MOUs covered education and training in the field of nuclear energy; the assessment and development of nuclear infrastructure; and the formation of a positive public opinion regarding nuclear energy. The documents, signed by Rosatom Director General Alexey Likhachev Burkina Faso Minister of Energy, Mines & Careers Yakub Zabre Guba, fix the framework conditions for cooperation in these areas in order to develop a national programme for the peaceful use of atomic energy.

Just like Burkina Faso president is doing. All countries in Africa need to start building buildings to process their riches. Do not renew the outsiders contracts and it is easy to cancel their contracts by simply finding where they have violated their contracts. Once the African countries have build the factories to process their minerals. It is a realistic plan. I hope this is seen and applied

Your headline is misleading. There's no panic about it in Africa. The only panicky occurs when western politicians and/or militaries set foot on out continent. Russia is our dear friend and always welcome. Remember, South Africa has nuclear facilities. Are you, like the west, suggesting that Africans or BF won't know how to use nuclear energy? There are other countries where Rosatom is helping with nuclear energy. We have uranium in Africa, right? So, we must use it for our own purposes and not for France or the USA. However, we will share it with friendly nations such Russia and Iran.

do not trust too much on russia. i hope ibrahim traore can stay loyal to his nation. the west and the east are no true friends to africa. it is importatant and good to have win/win aggrements. but usa, russia, china or europe are partners you must watch carefully, do not get be used. keep an alternative to all of them in your mind. my advice for all african states is: act as türkiye and work with türkiye.
