iCarsoft how to update car software and overview

I would have liked to have bought the top of the range one, it has all the cars listed then, but mines been fine for everyday use so far.

@@GrooveOn thanks a million. Mine is fine too, saved me a lot of money. But the poor thing only recognizes 4 of the 6 injectors my 2004 e320 cdi has. A lot to ask from it, really. I only had it recently, a few months ago.

Thanks for the kind words. I have tried to get a stock of the icarsoft 10 car versions, but they go quick, I will see if I can find another one.

Unfortunately once you have updated (if your device allows) then you cannot re-do, so I was unable to show what to do. However to explain, go into the iCarsoft programme on your PC as shown in the video, then go through to the point that you update the software, here you should find the option to download further cars. Remember once you download the cars you cannot change.

Does this mean that once you've updated the original vehicles in the Icarsoft, you can't add additional makes, or does it mean if you add new ones you can't update them ????

The icarsoft Pro covers all cars, I may get this myself and sell my current with 10 cars on. Or Autel I have read are really good

I know , I have a Mac but will need to test the iCarsoft on it Macs sometimes are just awful to use, so non intuitive I find !

can you see the files on the card with a PC?

@@GrooveOn I can see the files to load them onto the card but it’s saying the memory is 0. One is an off brand sd card I’ve never heard of and the other is a scan disk neither are registering.

@@ewanwilson3028 So was the icarsoft working when you bought it? As all the files should have been preloaded on SD card and you shouldn't need to touch it

@@GrooveOn doesn’t look like anything is preloaded as it’s saying memory is 0. When I select the manufacturers I want to install and click download it says please insert a card or machine is not recognising one. I’m going to call the place I bought it from.

Sorry for the late reply, it depends on what version of iCarsoft you have, not all version allow you to add other cars unfortunately.

So try un-selecting the languages you do not need, this will save some space, you can also delete some of the older software versions ! let me know how you get on. Also what size of micro-SD card do you have, I have a 4GB card and there is lots of space.

@@GrooveOn Thanks , but the additional languages were deselected by default . I bought a 4G memory SIM, problem sorted.

Hi There, there is a USB micro standard cable to connect a computer that should come with it.

If you've bought a multicar Icarsoft you can choose 10+ cars, but if you have just got one brand then unfortunately you can't add more my friend.

In your video your using the exact same model as I have the Jaguar - Landrover V2.0 with added vehicles ???? I assume someone has blocked you from revealing the "little trick" ???? Pity as if ICarsoft had any marketing skills they would sell additional vehicle programs for £20 each and make money instead of telling us to buy a new model... in which case I'd rather go to a different manufacturer just to show Icarsoft they're not very clever !!!!

In fact, I think I downloaded months after I got my unit

I believe so yes, you jut cant change the 10 cars once you have downloaded them

Okay, there is lots of functions you can do with icarsoft

When you bought the icarsoft, was it for a different car make? only some of the icarsoft you can choose up to 10+ cars but not all

@@emanemanuel1 you can try plugging into computer to see if you have option for other cars, but you may be locked into just one car Renault

hmm I doubt that my friend... I have both, but much prefer windows.

You will not know if there is an update just using the hand held device, however once you plug into a computer with the upgrade tool, it will advise you mate.

I am not sure, I haven't heard they have stopped the updates. Did you buy a unit that allowed adding other makes? If not then it's not possible to add if you have bought the single version
