I have been hesitant to try these in my missions for fear of wasting time, especially in the time-sensitive missions available in Styx. This guide helps me see what I might want to use and what might be relatively useless. Thanks for taking the time to put this together.
@@mgboltstwitch6921 If by finish you mean you done them once ... congrats. But their is no finish to the game you just do them again. I just would like to see more missions that are more involved than walk here. put device here. gather these things put them on ship, kill these things, etc. There is a lot of creative building potential but it is rendered pointless with constant one shot missions then start over. they need some longer campaign mode missions.
The only attachment that I really use is the Melee Speed 1 and I put it on pickaxes. Attached to a Platinum or Titanium pickaxe, you can demolish ores and rock super quick and it makes gathering mats a lot faster. Since most missions you use your pickaxe a lot, this in my opinion is the best attachment in game.
Need an update for Open World, and again later, when they merge Open with Missions. Many of the resource mods will be handy, then, for cleaning out caves and extended base building.
I understand that just from reading about what other players do and what my experience has been with other players tells me it’s not used very much in comparison.
Some of these are better than I think you give them credit for. For example, reducing my chance of getting pneumonia in caves is a big deal. I can make potions to get rid of the infection but I need some ingredients which aren't in all biomes. Plus it requires yet another bench. If I just had an attachment which could be earned early and quickly, that might help me get through a mission more efficiently. Also, you stated several times that you were aware of the weapons that people use in this game. I was wondering how you would know that? Are there analytics or are you just assuming based on comments and your friend circle?
Thank you for the comment. I don't feel that the helmet one is useful what so ever as all you need to do to prevent the pneumonia debuff is run out and back into the cave roughly every 4-5 minutes.
@@GameAdvisors Maybe you should do a video on that because that's not been my experience with caves. I bring backpacks which can hold massive amounts of ore and can stay in a cave for days. I never know how close I am to pneumonia or, if I stepped outside, was it for long enough? Where is a meter? A timer? It's not easy to avoid and the punishment is no stamina - very bad news. I tried the sleeping bag trick but nothing works. I can make a dehumidifier but that's high level and not worth for small-ish missions.
I totally agree here - from the possible helmet attachments, the one that reduces the chances of pneumonia (and bonus to health regen in caves - like regen from that poison damage from the worms that you were too newb to dodge) is legit useful. I don't have to worry how long I stay in the cave - I don't have to waste time running out and back in, I can focus on mining the thing out faster and being done with it. That way, maybe night time will not catch me in there :)).
The reaping and pick yield attachments are very useful if used correctly. Electroshock on a knife can stunlock bosses. Pocket attachments are also very useful, combined with the extra yield and you can decrease your material grind dramatically. You are spending pennies to earn dollars. Of course, it is situational. I'm not sure why you keep mentioning that Platinum is a nuisance to acquire, I'm skipping it more often than not. You just need to play smarter, not harder. I see this complaint a lot from the minimalist "speedrun" type of players. To them, anything that requires any effort beyond the bare minimum seems like a waste of time. Until there is a tangible reward for extra work, these people won't bother. Some of the attachments can be made of materials you already have acquired. So instead of just wasting them, you can put them to good use. "Oh, but I only get exactly what I need and nothing extra!" Well then you are wasting time and efficiency if you have space/weight you could allocate to ores. Most people in my group can get to a fabricator in an hour solo, even less time when in a group. I think people are stuck playing the same tune instead of taking the tools the Devs have been giving us and making it work. Electronics have been nerfed 5 total times and people are still complaining it's too much. I don't disagree, but the difference is night and day compared to Launch. Is it ideal? Is it easy? No, but complaining doesn't achieve much. In all honesty, this game just isn't for you GA, at least you don't show that you deserve to play it, so to speak. Your pessimism and condescending attitude really sour the watching experience. But I appreciate your efforts to keep us updated.
@@ronpetersen2317 It's basic math. 200% is more than 100%. It's more noticeable for items other than fiber/wheat, but by no means in necessary. But neither is movement speed, yet everyone builds it. It depend which QoL perks you value more
"Most people in my group can get to a fabricator in an hour solo" Nobody is arguing it's "easy" to get a fabricator. However in the state the game is in, missions that don't REQUIRE you to get a fabricator (which is most of them), getting one is literally time wasted, because your goal is to get in, complete the mission, and get out as FAST as possible. Sure, you can get a fabricator in an hour or two if you take it easy, but then again, what's the point if: - Getting a fabricator delays your mission completion by an hour or two - Completing the mission literally takes an hour or two "Is it ideal? Is it easy? No, but complaining doesn't achieve much" Nobody is COMPLAINING, he's doing a review of the attachments and telling things like they are. Half, if not more, of these attachments are useless in missions that don't require Tier 4 equipment, and that's what GA said in the video. If the honest truth about the attachments isn't what you were looking for, maybe this VIDEO isn't for you :P Sure, some attachments have their uses... in T4 missions / Open world, which is (sadly) not what most of the game is about right now. I've only played a little bit of open world (jumped back in the game earlier this week and just unlocked exotics nodes and deep veins, so started Open world last night), but so far the Open World mode doesn't seem to have much replay value. Will see though.
This video summarizes one of the major problems with this game. There's a lot of cool stuff but there's no point in using it because it's not worth it. Farming is basically worthless. Bows are OP so there's never really a major need to craft a gun. The Alterations bench is really cool, but as you've described, you're not going to waste much time crafting any of them unless you're already having to craft to T3/T4 and you just have the extra materials. The devs have the skills to make cool stuff for the game but don't know how to incorporate them to make them useful and rewarding.
I got some attachments as rewards for a mission (don't have the alteration bench yet) and have been trying for hours to figure out how to attach that stuff. Your video has been incredibly unhelpful. :)
just made a basic scope for my bolt action rifle. I have both rifle and scope in my inventory but how do I attach the scope to the rifle or does it do it automatically as I see no scope just iron sights
Strengthened Strings Attachments: GA: "You get minus fifteen percent wear rate; not really a big deal, or thirty percent..." Compound Bow has entered the chat...
I completed the training mission for the bear targets and regular targets. How do I build them? I can't find them in any work bench or recipe anywhere....
Most of these seem pointless as there are not that many missions you would bother taking the time to make them. If they had proper campaign missions where your build is there for a long haul then maybe they are useful. He said the one that requires platinum is not worth it and a pain ... platinum is not used for much in general. I just use it for making tools as the other matierials have a use in other things and platinum hardly ever used
Wow... Very pessimistic and don't really appreciate that there are different playstyles out there. Literally everything in this video is "not that big of a deal".
