A work around would be to bring a drop ship beacon. You can load up your drop ship(s) with the exotics. Run back to base, and call your drop ship back to you. Or vise a versa, load up your base and call it to yourself at the exotic tree.
Tried this the first time I did reds. The problem you encounter is that your drop ship only holds 150, and you'll be getting a minimum of 200 and an average of 400.
A bit late for me, but I'll absolutely be linking this to a few friends! As a solo player myself, if you aren't going to set up a processing base on-site, I have to recommend the Neves pickaxe and the Carry On talent in the Resources tree. You can relatively-easily carry 800kg of raw red exotics clear across the map.
Thanks for the super thanks! 👌 yeah, it's a bit of a chore, but we found it fun! You can use the drop ship method to call the stuff to your location which I didn't cover in this video as it doesn't directly effect the harvesting of exotics.
Since we've had a week to find things out, it's not so bad now. Many caves lead to the lava biome, which speeds things up. Can use the drop ship recall beacon to put all the exotics in so you don't have to hail them back. The only real time consuming process is cleaning the exotics now as getting tier 4 ain't really that hard.
Thanks for all the involved work it took to produce this guide! Question: do the talents "Exotic Power" and "Exotic Sprinter" in the resources tree affect red exotics too?
Would imagine so mate, I removed all them once you could bring your drop pod to your location. And it was a good effort on the server last night we still have a tone to extract lol
Love it!! Great video! Unrelated question.. Scenario: I have an open world, a friend joins. Disables solo talent buffs. Question:: do the solo talents then come back into action on that open world as soon as the friend leaves? Or are they now permanently disabled now that the open world is has registered more than 1 player at any given time?
If you are lucky and manage to find the rare plant (a small one that looks like a cabbage), you can plant it at your base and it is much more practical, but you also need to refine it to establish exotic
I know this is two months on, but my method on our open world has been to bring a wind turbine to power the red exotic extractor (and it could power electric radar as well). You can also leave the turbine in place if you want, for next time that site is active (i.e. after a meteor shower, something new since you did this guide). What I'm still not sure about
Hey I'm in the process of updating my exotics guides, I'd 100% recommend using the wind turbine that's what I've been doing since they released. Personally for open world I just use the work shop radar.
I bring as solo a 3x3 alum base, 3 cleanser and the extractor. A bio fuel can and 2 wind turbine and 2 air cooler, thats good to transforme it on site and stay alive.
Wouldn't it be very feasible solo to just bring the required machines to the exotics instead and then call down a pod to carry them to space? (like call the pod down next to where you harvest them) And considering how slow they get extracted you could haul a lot with a good setup. Hauling 50 an hour seems quite easy for a solo player, an hour is enough time to make the trip to base.
Your right you can call down a drop pod, but still have to turn the volatile exotics I to clean exotics 1 hour to clean 60. This is a overall guide on how to get them people will figure out methods on how to move stuff etc.
all fine and dandy. but huh, how do you find them? by chance running around? i did the chef mission via drop in just so i can get a chance at farming some red exotic and the scanner sent me to purple ones. (was using the workshop scanner)
I explained everything in the video, you can use a radar or use the website to locate them you will still have to run to them as the radar still doesn't tell you which is what.
If you want you can just use the drop ship method, use a drop shop beacon at the exotic location fill up your dropship with exotics get back yo your bade and use another beacon to call your ship back to you and grab the exotics.
Posting it here, but what do you spend red exotics on? I didn't see any new items or existing items that use red exotic currency.... so what are we doing with all these red exotics?
@@Fortizar thank you for the response. Yes I have the new frontier DLC. I'll take another look maybe the new exotics apply to items I've already unlocked and bought?
Im having issues with the final mission in the linear sequence on Open World. The one where you must go to the lava zone. Can you do a guide on it? No one has done it yet.
Great guide as usual. :) How about one on the mission - magmatic: Extermination - I cant seem to figure out how to get to the one spot and I not seen some of the animals I need to hunt.
I am doing that mission now. Could not find drakes. Checked files and they only spawn in one area of the lava biome. I think the devs need to revise it or add more spawn points. Maybe replace the rabbits(why spawn in lava zone?) with the drakes.
I found no drakes either and I could not figure out how to get to the blue dot area. I believe it is one of the caves but after working my way around 4 of them I gave up. @@jimk7221
So if im playing Open World and then doing Operations on planet, thise Operations give me access to the exotics? Or can i still not get them in Open World regardless of how rhe new system works
The last three story missions gives you reds as rewards but the general missions I'm not 100% sure if they will spawn from open world or have to be launched from the station.
I have another video coming out soon about the plants, but they only have a 20% spawn chance where icarus Intel shows is the possible locations if your lucky enough for one to spawn.
Thank you for the video. I have a problem. I need to build a satellite for the story mission. But I can't find any titan in the open world in the new DLC. Can someone help me
Has anyone found blue reed flowers for making wine on the new prometheus play through i've run streams & lakes, ice biomes, swamp biomes & the other ares but can't find any . all help will be greatly appreciated
I think the process is very long and thay only give you 3 days as well and if you doing a mission as well it's get long lol I like the idea behind it tho I don't go much on the way the ores are cose you spend half the time running about getting them as well I think as it takes long the time limits should be a little longer to
The method of cleansing them is great, the work around about moving them around is just calling your drop ship to you and loading it up. You can do exploration missions which are 30 days long so not much as a rush.
errrm... You don't need to carry anything back. Just bring an orbital exchange interface with you and send them back up from where you harvested them!!
For clarification - There are two ways to do it - Bring the cleanser and OEI with you and clean them as you extract them in a temp base, then send them up via the OEI. Or, if you really want to bring them back to your main base, just load yourself up heavy as you like and ride back on a mount (horse/moa) - Easy as pie. Why make it difficult?!
Just use the drop ship method to move the bulk of them, call your ship to uou with a recall beacon from either the workshop or crafted. Place the exotics inside and when you get back to base csll your drop ship back and empty the exotics
