Waheed Khan Sir the policy is not about not playing with pakistan. The policy is not to enagge in any event which provides significant sum to Pakistan. ICC event outside Pakistan is not benefiting Pakistan a lot but playing Pakistan in Pakistan does. There is no ambiguity.

As for why we play elsewhere or in other sports, it's simple. Our idea is to make it hard & costly for Pakistan, not for ourselves. It's for Pakistan & PCB to do whatever they want & retaliate if they feel like. Mr. Khan, you are not one of the newbies who are wet behind their ears. You, of all people, should know that the political relationship between india & Pakistan determines how much & what can be done. There is no government in India that in the absence of strong political support for better deliverable relations within the Pakistani state will want to take a risk of sending a cricket team to Pakistan when there are soldiers dying in India. They will be skewered by the public . Social media has made life very different from the time most Pakistanis like to refer to, i.e. 1980's-90's. The 2004 visit happened on the back of a political push for peace. No such thing exists now nor would public opinion in India tolerate it. Many of you are unfortunately delusional about the situation. Its not the government alone, its the public opinion, especially post 26/11/2008 and it has only grown stronger. It may suit you to blame only the present government in India but neither BCCI nor the main players want to visit Pakistan(even if they won't openly say so). The public backlash & any protest aside, BCCI & the players dont want to face the threat of calls for cancelation & boycott, which could damage the BCCI's own brand & certainly the players wouldn't want to risk their advertising revenue. Companies as big as Tata have faced public anger & backed down. Most companies are wary of public boycott calls and have dropped even celebs like Aamir Khan. The point is not that these calls for boycott & cancelation work always, but no one wants to risk it. IPL is the goose laying the golden eggs for BCCI, no one wants to risk that brand. BCCI may be powerful & rich but its the people of India making them so. They understand it, even if like many Pakistanis, you dont.

Not playing bilateral cricket with Pakistan is India's way of giving back to Pakistan who as a country always thought and acted ill of India since inception. Each of their actions have been to spite Undia even at s cost to Pakistan itself including the trade ban. However, since ICC commitments cannot be avoided, India is forced to play Pakistan. In ICC events, why would india withdraw playing vs pak and lose group stage points. If ind and pak gets to semi final or final, why would India damage themselves because of them by not playing such matches. That’s the only reason ind is playing at ICC events.
