This sequel I think is decent, though outside of Ellie's backstory I feel like some of the dramatic weight of the first film is lacking here. I remember even as a kid feeling like that 🤔.
@@noveldefender9815 emotional intelligence is an accepted concept, I'm not sure what you mean. You can be aware of emotions but have no idea how to approach them.
2 news for ice age fans #-.1 Sad news: Disney closed blue sky's so there is no more ice age #.-2 good news: ice age is now on Netflix, don't believe me? Check it yourself
The villains in this movie have less than 2 minutes of screen time, but they've always been super memorable to me. Even now, the first scene of them being revealed in the ice is really creepy.
@Fnafbro2345 I actually heard about it, The creature was going to have a voice. I think its because there are too many voice actors. I could only imagine it being so annoying to cretaceous and Maelstrom, Lol.
This was the first full movie I saw in theaters, and I still have a soft spot for it. The animation is a massive improvement over the original, Manny and Ellie have some pretty good chemistry, and a few of the scenes, (the fire king, Food, Glorious Food, and all the scrat scenes) are still hilarious to me to this day.
The animation in this sequel is actually quite better than the first movie, and I’m not gonna lie. Aside from Scrat, Crash and Eddie were kind of my favorite characters to watch in this movie.
11:54 I like Scrat more than the Minions too. I like the beginning when they SHOW the ice is melting with Scrat. The animation upgrade from Ice Age 1 to 2 is stunning. I love these movies. 44:20 I love the Mammoths score, John Powell did a great job.
Not so fun fact and a bit of spoiler: Following the studio's shutdown; some of Blue Sky Studios animators paid tribute to Ice Age success through a clip of Scrat finally having the nut.
my favorite thing about you guys watching these movies is being able to see you experience the adventure of scrat and see if he will ever get his acorn and be happy 😂
I looked it up, the two aquatic creatures are Cretaceous & Maelstrom, they are an Ichthyosaur & Pliosaur respectively, so they must also be from the subterranean Mesozoic world.
Nice observation from Aaron about not needing to see the first one to get the sequel. I pretty much thought for years that I'd seen the original Ice Age, but The Meltdown was actually the one I was thinking of.
We need more childhood animated/non animated classics (if they haven’t been seen yet) shrek movies, surfs up, happy feet 1/2, Shark tale, spy kids, Cloudy with a chance of meatballs The sandolt, bridge to terabithia, tooth fairy/game plan (the rock), Tim burton films, monster house, ET, Meet the robinsons, OG haunted mansion, the incredibles, Hercules, Madagascar, The Emperor New groove, Fantastic Mr fox, Megamind, Rio, The pacifier, The adams family, Night at the museum, Freaky friday, Parent trap (1998), Hocus pocus, Bedtime stories Grown ups Daddy daycare Casper Halloweentown Charlie n the chocolate factory Shark boy n lava girl THERES MORE BUT CANT THINK OF ATM LOL
The "Food Glorious Food" song is an altered version of a song of the same name from "Oliver! The Musical". Hearing the song in this film for the first time was hilarious to me knowing that.
I'm surprised they didn't get that. I always thought that was a famous enough song for people to be aware of outside of the film. Like I've never watched Oliver but I knew the song
I highly Highly recommend you react to the Scrat shorts on the Blu-Ray’s, they are utterly hilarious, especially the one in Ice Age 2 where he finds a Time Machine.
😊 I have always had a theory about why Diego didn’t have a flashback for why he didn’t like water and I think it’s because since Ellie had a flashback to what she was a child I think another flashback would’ve been too much at least in my opinion
When you watch all them, make sure to watch Scrats little short about his nut. It was such an emotional end for him as a kid who grew up with these movies 😂
Same. Her name’s Ellie. I love her in this AND the next one, which is where she’s pregnant. And I have to say, her pregnancy was wonderful. Also, she was my childhood crush. She was incredibly beautiful.
Yall... Diego doesnt like water because he's a cat. . We don't need a back story... They never ran into much water in the first movie so there was no reason to know before now. None of the Sabers jumped in the water after the woman and the baby. It's probably just a sabertooth thing to not like water.
Perfect timing!!! I was just about to eat and was looking for a video to watch because O can't eat properly without watching something. Lol. And this video popped up!!!
I don't care what other people say, I've been watching ice age movies since I'm 4 and i really love this franchise but nothing had me better than first ice age movie
the second film is way better than the first 👍🏻 please watch and react to: - ice age: dawn of the dinosaurs (2009) - planet 51 (2009) - rio (2011) - ice age: continental drift (2012) - the perks of being a wallflower (2012) - escape from planet earth (2013) - rio 2 (2014) - mr. peabody and sherman (2014) - ice age: collision course (2016) - collateral beauty (2016) - captain underpants (2017)
Part 3 is definitely my favorite, not sure if its the best but id say yeah pretty damn good! Also i love the Scrat bits, back then going to the theater it was like they used Scrat to show off the advancements of their animation tech essentially. Thats how i felt at least :P prolly why they are so good, cause they were just having fun showcasing what they could do with animation. None the less these reactions have been great, these movies often get passed up but i enjoy them just because the nostalgia of watching animation just get better and better.
No, he was a father. If you rewatch the flashback scene with the cave drawings, you’ll see that the mother and baby got crushed by rocks that the human threw over the cliff. Only the adult male survived, and that was Manny.
By far my favorite in the whole series, only because this was only movie i had as a kid on a disc, same with up, but man this movie was absolute peak, but thr 3rd one was soo sooo amazing aswell, they all are, all 3 are
Here in Arizona we have little bitty flash floods every once in a while, and they're just that--flash. Instantaneous. The idea that a dam that size would burst and they'd be able to backtrack, have a cute moment, not be able to move a rock, fight some dinosaurs, move a rock, and have another cute moment in the, I give it fifteen seconds before the whole valley is underwater, might just be the funniest part of this movie.
Yes! I'm so excited to watch this! We had the DVD for this movie at our Grandma's(we call her Nanny) house and would watch it all the time while she babysat me and my siblings while our parents worked! Very much my childhood lol 😆 Probably my favorite of all the movies just become all the memories it has for me, my siblings, and Nanny 💜 Hope y'all do all the other movies! My family saw the 3rd one in theaters and it was great! The space movie people don't really like but I still really enjoyed it. I think people are way to harsh with movies tbh. A lot of the ones people hate I really enjoy or love 😅
When I watch this movie, me and my dad are the only ones in the theater. Which is saying something because back then feeders were way more popular than they are now
