Bro the girl on the TV, thats the girl from the hanging balloons. She was the first one to die. Its confirmed that all of these stories are apart of the same universe which is even more chilling.
You just made me realize something. What if the Black Paradox story is the future of that universe? Or worse yet, the GYO incident? My God, what if Hellstar Remina is just a few decades away?
When you watch the whole series, you can see references from all other episodes (but it's hard to remember them all). I know I saw in an episode people gathering around a house (the same people in the Hanging Balloons episode), and a picture of a house in another episode (the same house from the Guy who loved Books episode)
Not really, even in this show's season, I found the Bizarre Hizikuri siblings the least scary. The characters look creepy and you think they're attuned to the supernatural and fear for the fates of the guests they invited to their house, just to find out later most of them are just dumbasses and weirdos. Which is fine, because it was clearly intended to be more comedic than the other episodes.
At first I thought "OK, this guy is a vampire or something, and he's kidnapping kids like N0S4A2 or something." Then the dad came home, and I was reminded of who wrote this thing. Well played, Ito-San. Well played.
This was probably the best attempt at doing his in a motion and sound kind of way. Those who say it sucks...well to each their own, and some of the stories simply are not very...comprehensible(4X4 Walls for instance is nonsense, though I've been told it's like the Principle Post and has a deeper allegorical meaning in its native country). I think some of the problem with his work being translated this way, from one medium to another is 'timing'. In this one in particular, instead of feeling like the father is rushing home at the end, they have him be rather non-chalante about what he's seeing right up until the end, despite it being really strange what he is seeing.
This is sick. It's supposed to be minimalist art with the characters. I love it so far. This is some og stuff. I'm glad a wider audience can appreciate Junji Ito's work now. Despite if you like the art style or not, all their work will be celebrated forever in an anime medium. Only to be imported upon from here. I think it's fantastic 😊
I googled Ito's art work and i really amazed after seeing it it really left some extraordinary mark in anime world that are way to unique to understand for one
That episode was sick AF…All them kids turned to Ice Cream and that one man’s son was melting. His dad smacked him but ended up smacking his head off cause it was Ice Cream…That was fucked up.
Bear in mind this is an Ito Story. Much like the Spirals in Uzumaki, there's more to it than simply the parents letting the kids go on an ice cream tour. Notice how there's glowing eyes for headlights. Almost similar to It's Deadlights. The Ice Cream man is designed to sexually appeal to the mothers. Being handsome, charming and great around kids. That's the illusion. I don't even think the Driver is even real. Just a vessel for the Truck itself since that's when the kids get turned.
This is probley the first anime where the subs are more realistic and haunting than the dub I like to imagine the ice cream man is italion and speaks in a itaialian accent while the rest of the people in the show just speak Japanese
This episode 2 of the ice creams and the truck is very disturbing that made me scare you when I saw that scene 0:23 of the children eating that ice cream inside the truck, and the strange thing is that the adults did not allow them Get in. And that ice cream driver is macabre when he takes a lot of children.
This short reminds me of the Masters of Horror episode "We all Scream for Ice Cream" as both stories involve a mysterious entity giving ice cream to children with sticky consequences! Love Junji Ito!
Quedó muy bien el doblaje, luego de gozar los enredos de romantic killer y los mutantes espaciales de exception además de park su galanura en lookism... 😱😱😱🇯🇵🇲🇽💞💕♥️😍😘
Damn this reminds me of master of horror since I know there is a episode of master of horror that is a ice cream episode where the adults die by melting by the kids eating the ice cream.
