It's amazing that you get all those colors from a single dye. I love the second shirt, the colors and patterns look like a stormy ocean crashing on rocks.
Ooo, these shades are scrumptious! Lovely work!! 😍👏🏼👏🏼 I’ve never tried the incline twist, but I’m definitely inspired to now. There’ve been ice dye forums online for years discussing what shades give the most interesting color splits…it’s wonderful to see companies specifically formulating dyes for ice work popping up. 😁🌈Thanks for the video Angie! 🥰
Thank you so much!! Incline twist is my favorite technique to show off color splits. I'm happy to see companies developing ice dye colors too. The color splits are one of the things make ice dyeing so unique and fun! 😀
Thank you! That's interesting that I haven't popped up on your RU-vid. I've been back to posting for a couple of months. I'm glad you found me again though. 😀
I love these colors. I saw your video on the swatches and I would like to pick up these exact two colors. But thank you for sharing these with us. I’m definitely gonna have to order these two dye colors. Great shirts Angie.
I loved these sooo much that I bought these 2 colors plus the pink/red color! Loved the t’s when they were done! I also dyed 2 dog t’s. My husband was impressed with the color variation
I’m so impressed with these colors! Your videos are so informative. I knew I would probably like Northern Lights. I surprised at how much I love Undertow. I think it’s a great mens color as well. Thanks again Angie!
I love both of these shirts as well angie. Undertow is my favorite I would call that shirt Titanic undertow because there are so many ghostly faces showing up in the splits. Thank you so much for all your hard work and sharing it with us.
Thank you so much! That's a great name for this shirt. Someone said they saw fish in the shirt too. I think it's a fun bonus when strange things show up in the shirts. 😀
The northern light reminds me of ds mind bender. Both are beautiful. The undertow is gorgeous, i'm gonna try to get my hands on that one. Love how the shirts came out. 👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you, Nancy! I was looking for something on Amazon last night and noticed that there is a sinew puller for sale on Amazon. Here is a link to the one I found. amzn.to/4cjWpWm I was really surprised to find one on Amazon. I don't know how good it is, but it gets 4.8 stars.
I love the Northern Lights! I order 6 of their dyes and got a shipping confirmation yesterday, no tracking yet but I hope I get them tomorrow so I can try them out this weekend. I have some things prepped and I'm ready. 😂 Thank you for sharing, Angie. An incline twist is a great way to get the feel of the dye color. Both of these are very cool. I think my son's will like the undertow on a shirt.
That's great! I hope you get them soon. Incline twist is my favorite for color splits, and I think these shirts really show how pretty the colors are. My husband said Undertow looked really cool, so I hope your sons like it too. 😀
@FunEndeavors it looks like I'll get the shipment Saturday by 7pm. Yay! Friday would have been better for my work schedule. They'll be batches extra long if I do them Sunday. That's OK, too, though. It doesn't hurt anything to batch for days or a week. 😀
Thank you! Up until about 5 years ago, Dharma was the only dye supplier I used too. There are a lot of other great suppliers out there now though. I tried some of them when Dharma was having a hard time keeping dye in stock. I have favorite colors from each one, but Dharma is still my go to. Dalula Co. mixes colors specifically for ice dyeing, so her colors are great color splitters and fun to use if you are a big ice dyer. 😀
Whoa! Loved these. So this is only one color that splits?! I’m brand new and really excited to learn a lot during these warm months. What type of ice is best for beginners? Was planning on just grabbing a few bags at the gas station for a first round
Thank you so much! Yes, these dyes were mixed using several different dye colors, so that when they are used for ice dyeing the various colors "split" out of the dye. I think this incline twist technique allows the dye a long space to move and split showing off all the cool colors in a dye. Some dye colors are single-hue colors and won't split, but not any of Dalula Co.'s dyes. If you'd like a chart of single-hue dyes, here is a link to one that Paula Burch has compiled. www.pburch.net/dyeing/FAQ/pureMXcolors.shtml You can use any kind of ice for ice dyeing. Gas station ice will work great! Summer is a great time for tie dyeing, I hope you have fun! 😀
A little bit. It doesn't have quite as many colors in it though. Mind Bender has more blue/teal splits and a little bit of a peach type color that I didn't see in Northern Lights.
