We take a long weekend and ice fish/ camp on Maines traditional Allagash lake. Many fish were caught and a good time was had. Hope you guys like the video. Thanks!
Pay close attention to the parking spot just before the snow bank when you’re about to turn onto the Golden Road. You coincidentally filmed my fishing partners pile of skat, from our pit stop on the way to Lobster Lake, merely a few days prior to this adventure of yours. Unfortunately, we got skunked on our trip. Enjoyed the brookie footage, as they have always been my go to catch. For myself, there’s no fish in the world that beats the beauty of those red dots with blue halos on a Maine Brook trout. Good video guys. Signing off from Madison.
Allagash Rangers patrol the lake on 4 wheelers and snowmobiles. They go everywhere including on the ice. Also, I believe the 2 trap limit was raised a few years ago.
Good ice fishing trip. Too bad you didn't catch, clean and cook some of your fish (that is a big draw on RU-vid). I believe they increased the limit of lines to 5 per person in 2020. They have an overpopulation of lake trout and need people to thin them out (but how many can you keep?). If you had "ice-camped (setting up your tent on the lake)," you could have done jigging through the day and even in the night (with a rattle wheel). If you hit it just right, you can catch dozens of togue while jigging and it is so much more fun pulling them in on a rod/reel and videotaping them. Especially, if you have an underwater camera. Cheers
The sleders may have gone out by accident not every 9ne knows and on sled you don't always see the signs they didn't seem to go all over so they may have had had a one that saw the sign and then left or how about an angler had a medical issues and rhey went to gwt him and took took him to help possibly I understand as a maine guide but shit does happen
