When perch move to main lake mud flats its important to be able to call fish for a distance. Putting to use a drop shot rig can be just the ticket for fooling roaming Jumbos!
I absolutely love couples who fish together. Y'all are such good anglers and a great couple. I wish nothing but the best for y'all and many years of success in anything y'all do.
The first perch was outstanding! Mountain Dew baby! Drinking one now! I would not be able to resist taking ten of those home. We 25 would be better. You two earned another subscriber. Those larve will definitely catch the fish. I’m glad your episode popped up in my feed.
I didn't know anyone else used the phrase waylaid! Great video. Looking to use the drop shot set up more this winter myself. Thanks for the info and demonstration!
Great videos guy's! I enjoy watching all the targetting of different species and tactics your using how to and tackle talk! Good stuff! Never seen Larva before kind of wild. Jumbo!
I don't like your movie on giant first I don't believe in throwing fish back like that because if you don't want them and you don't like eating them there's other people do you took the time out to show me that you can catch some big f****** deal you should honor what you catch and give it to somebody else or take it home and fry it up yourself if you don't like them well don't go fishing I'll never watch your episode again that's my comment
hey guys - the mayflies aren't hatching out of the bottom this time of the year. they live in the mud on the bottom. they swim to the top in the spring usually may change into a flying insect, lay their eggs on the rock and vegetation along the shoreline and die. thus their lifecycle begins again. Awesome fish!
Wrong they lay their eggs by depositing them from the air into the water or land on the water to lay their eggs as these are aquatic insects know as hexegenia limbata
You guys should check out Roger's Rigs. They have a RU-vid channel and they have pre-made hand-tied rigs that are drop-shot. They have been making and using them for years in the Adirondacks of northern NY. Pretty slick
That was our concern as well - but it is able to pull 3 sleds (otter Magnums) pretty much waited down w/ 2 people. If it’s a bit slushy it can struggle to get up and go
Getting away from people is key for the bigger fish. Generators, augers, trucks, snowmobiles, quads plus people yelling and dogs barking - they tend to stay away from that…..!!
Where is everyone else?? Us locals catch those all the time and know not to pressure the big females this time of year so we actually have a good population of big ones to harvest in summer. This lake has become a playground for “social media people”. Really sad
Drop shot with a tungsten jig??? Why waste your time rigging it when you're just fishing a tungsten anyway? If you had a bare hook with bait above then you can finesse the bait, but with jig is goofy.
