Looks like that would be fun for super slow technical stuff where balance would be an issue on a conventional mtb. Also I feel like my neck would be killing me after a while of sitting in that position.
Can this be modified for full locking crash "proof" canopy enclosure, power assist with battery drive or hybrid battery drive? With an enclosure and the above mentioned power assisted drive this can be used by more people as their chief means of transportation, as a fun recreation vehicle, a quick grocery getter for light trips, a safer way to rest on long journeys, provide transit options to folks with sleep apnea who cannot safely operate a normal I.C.E. based motor vehicle.
I think a better combo would be a fat rear and normal mob fronts, then you get the climbing traction but less tyre drag. Having had a fat bike and trikes, I imagine this this thing is really slow.
Would be nice to see this using road tyres too imho. I know its not how it was designed for, but would show how versatile it could be too. Switching the wheels would meet my needs at least. Although im not the targeted audience for this, as its clearly off road. Just would be interesting to see. :)
+Michael Metcalfe just swap the wheels from the ones from their other trikes then? I'm sure they sell them separately. There might be a small axel width difference though.
+Gianfranco Fronzi They are about a metre apart, how much further do you need them? You already have accessibility problems with stuff like this, that would only add to them.
+Gianfranco Fronzi no, but you seem to want more stability, they are extremely stable, they corner like a dream, really, the feeling is out of this world when cornering on downhill roads. I just wish I could afford an ICE trike instead of the cheap thing I have now.
Is this better than the one wheel at the front? seems much more stable. I would love to help a friend out with something like this or if Icetrikes would donate hime one. He had an amazing active lifestyle of dirtbikes, mountain biking and street bikes. After an unfortunate accident, it has confined him to a wheelchair. Living of low income now and an old wheelchair he said he dreams of riding again. I am reaching out on his behalf to anyone who has connections or a way to make his dream come true. I ride mountain bike on trails daily and I can see how he feels and how much he must miss riding. This IceBike would be the real deal for him. Would have to do minor conversion and add a hub motor but that would be an awesome experience for him again.
@Northern Freelance We can't guarantee anything free but its definitely with contacting us at sales@icetrikes.co for a chat. We already do electric assist trikes with the shimano steps system and we are currently developing a hand crank conversion to fit our trikes.Get in touch and we can go through some options. cheers.
Wow !!!! Maybe I will sell my Vortex II and buy this . I live on the countryside and many paths are not good for my trike. I always have to pay attention for this and that. With a "Full Fat" I must not care.... The question is: What does that weight? And can I fold it like mine?
The trike in this video weighs 61lbs. It is fitted with huge tyres and a Rohloff hub. It has the same folding mechanism as the ICE Adventure and Sprint trikes.
ICE Trikes So it has more than twice as mine (have got a Rohloff too...)... Sounds like I would have to install an e-motor for creeping up the hill or even dune. But then I would not be able anymore to pack it into the storage of my car so easy. On the video (really beautifull video!) I don't see any problem with the weight. But of course it's a professional video.....:)
albatros44444 All the stuff that we rode up in the video was climbed for real (and let me tell you, some of it is even steeper than it looks) the weight of the trike is not very apparent when riding. Unless you were trying to do long, off road tours with heavy loads and wanted to do lots of miles each day I would not say that a motor is at all necessary for most riders.
I wish the price wasn't so much. For 5k I could buy a motor bike. I have a condition where I have an uneven hip and pelvis, making it hard for me to ride a standard bike or walk and jog. My physical therapist has me in twice a week on an electronic workout bike that's built much like this one, but with no actual wheels. But twice a week's not enough to make much a difference in my health. I'm not getting enough exercise and have very few options thanks to my condition. Insurance won't pay for a bike like this with back support or in the reclined position, and my doctor's too much a dick to not write me a prescription to begin with. What do you suggest a person do?
Have you considered a scooter? Large wheel of course. They have been helpful to a lot of folk suffering from mobility issues. I ride bike sbut theres limits due to previous injuries I have. So I ride a scooter. Takes strain off my hands, works the legs which i need to do to maintain my knees and flexibility and being Stood up removes more strain from my back that sat down or bend over a diamond frame.
Hi Henry, This trike is currently only available via direct email to us sales@icetrikes.co. We will however have the Full Fat available on our website in the coming weeks...
I like it & would love one modified for left hand use only to get me out in the country as I'm disabled and cannot ride normal bike as I've a smashed up left shoulder that would not cope with shock through handlebars. Tried 7 yrs now to get funding but cannot get the help. It would help a great deal as I'm disabled after being knocked off mountain bike in the first place. I'm depressed as I miss cycling badly & slowly giving up the will to live
I believe I saw a video of a recumbent (2 wheel) bike using a joystick to steer (Similar to jet fighters). I'm sure you can get a mechanic to modify a trike so it steers with a joystick. So either hand can steer the trike.
I want to see what the bike can do not just ride easly over obstacle. If i buy a bike over 5000$ i want to see what it can do in a really hard race. Big jump and more!! Please redo this video whit extreme stunt.
+David Moreau The Full Fat was never designed with 'speed' or 'jumps' in mind. It is a trike designed to get you to places other trikes can't go. To relentlessly carry you over the roughest terrain. The video perfectly represents what the Full Fat is about..... getting you and your trike of the road and into the wild, whether that be 10 minutes from your front door or across the Antarctic.
@@TheRosa63 What bothers me about these is teh designs really arn't proven to be tested in rought conditions. Every video i've sene of them its all gentle. I'm not a very gentle person, i'm rought with my bikes. I wanted a trike ages ago but fell out with the idea due to the crazy prices and no proof they can take a beating.
