Ice Jotnars - Conquest Lore 

To add details onto the events of Ragnarok, the Nords/Spires didn’t exactly “win” against the invaders, what they called “the Sun Giant from the South”. In reality, Ragnarok was Hazlia, the Pantokrator or Sun God or “Father” of humanity, sending 4 entire Legions northward for enigmatic reasons during the early dominoes of what would be known as The Fall. The Legions succeeded in accomplishing *something* (they really weren’t given direction for the campaign), which is the complete destruction of the Yggdrasil Spires, but apparently no one survived to return from the campaign which is the most devastating “victory” the Old Dominion could have had. The Nords, of course, wrote the terrible event into their mythos as the day their Gods died, and it’s part of their vendetta against the 100 Kingdoms, which they believe are descendants of the Sun Giant.

I don't play Conquest, nor do I have any minis from it, but I sure am interested in its lore! Keep up the great work Doug!

I was in a rut painting up my Hundred Kingdoms army, but I just got the Old Dominion starter set and the aesthetic abd the lore for that faction has me beyond excited. A uh video on them would be great

Ice Jotnar are definitely cool, and really deadly on the table! Being bigger than most other units allows them line of sight to basically throw magic wherever they want!

I has assumed that the Jotnar were the descendants of the super humans the spire made that mated with baseline Nords. Glad to see they’re their own race. I’m holding out hope that they’ll have a book series set in this world someday. I love the lore!

I wonder if a ship is even needed for these guys. Just freeze some seawater and make an ice berg ship or ice bridge. Easy peasy!

They have mountain, ice, and now sea jotnar...will we get fire jotnar at some point as well?

I wonder if thr line about being the nobility of the giants is to be taken literal or if we are supposed to take it as the writer has to conceptualize everything in comparison to humans, and just means they ice giants are the best. Oh and in GW lore the old school cloud giants were smart. The ogres wrecked em.
