It can't have changed much, granted the comfort/memory foam has evolved a lot, the assembly process has evolved

@@jim2245 it's far more than just memory foam. Boots are carbon fiber and many skates are a single piece of carbon fiber for the boot and outsole these days. The manufacturing process for that versus sewing leather together is night and day different.

I was going to say this too. Top hockey skates are nothing like this anymore. That particular Bauer model in the video is from the 90s.

Depends how often you skate. You can get cheaper skates on Ebay.

Keep in mind this video is at least 20 years old, based on the skate model they are making. Bauer, CCM and True have been making incredible innovations in skate design, construction and materials over the past few years (the skates I used in the 1990s are absolutely nothing like the skates my daughter wears today). Back in the 1970s and early 1980s, Lange - traditionally a ski boot manufacturer - did offer a range of professional hockey skates based on ski boot design. They were comfortable and protective, but they were also heavy, bulky, and frankly consumers didn’t like how they looked.
