Same, met her thru a friend in Atlanta. I work in the film industry. She’s a VERY authentic person with no filter…so I’m positive it’s all true. EDIT : Honestly, Ice Spice strikes me as someone who lacks a personality and sense of self. Thats why she’s ok with rapping about NOTHING and can only shake her ass. @@rennexoxo she had money, that wasn’t the issue. She was brought on the tour with a days notice and was told everything would be covered. She wasn’t being paid so the absolute least they could do is make sure her room and transportation was covered. If that was going to be an issue she should’ve been notified before. They obviously didn’t respect her seeing as someone stole her card and charged $700, and they couldn’t make sure her basic human needs were fulfilled

Ice is an artist signed to a label. Sounds like this young lady didn't know the business. Maybe some independent/opening artists have a decent arrangement, but there's a strong likelihood that you will use your own budget. And this is a reminder: GET A CONTRACT AND READ IT If they can't give you a contract, don't go girl!

@@amanahicks1347I understand what you’re saying…as someone that works in film, it’s easy when you first start working in the industry to trust everything at face value when someone presents something to you. However, Cleo is learning like we ALL do…to ALWAYS have a contract. No matter how big or small…in advance or last minute. It’s usually the people you think have it like that to come thru, that WON’T and will have you in a bind. This happens TOO OFTEN. With fresh talent and crew. We learn the hard way! The rap industry in general is a shady business that will find a way to undercut less aware people. You have to think about the type of people that are most likely to enter that genre of the industry. Not typically great characters tbh. Cleo trusted a homie and had to find out QUICK two lessons in one.

Met Cleo in real life. She’s friends with one of my homegirls. Cleo was able to hang out with Ice cause she’s one of those fun round the way girls that generally accepts everybody unless you’re an “obvious” problem to be around. She’s laid back and chill…your typical extrovert that likes to know everybody and have connections. So she doesn’t really worry too much about all the details of a person unless you’re a general red flag.

They wanted to isolate her and make her feel as small as possible so she would tolerate and accept their bad treatment. The suitcase situation was a tactic to make her feel small. I think it’s deeper than just jealousy, Ice and her team did not want Cleotrapa to know her worth so they could exploit her, she was used as cheap labor.

There's always three sides to a story but theres a clip i seen with Ice Spice and Central Cee , so when I hear Cleo describe her experience, i had a clear visual of what these scenes looked like. Some parts may be a bit foggy and slightly distorted but even looking at those text messages, Ice Spice was never that girl's friend. ANYTIME someone invites you to ANYTHING last minute, that means they didn't really want you to come. Thats rule of thumb, rich or poor. Only exception is IF THEY THEMSELVES planned the function last minute.

I like the way this girl explained everything. And I typically hate listening to people expose each other but the more I heard the more I was interested. If music doesn't work out she should be a writer. Honestly she made me realize what a logistical nightmare it would be to bring someone on a big time tour and not financially support them as well. Regardless, I don't think there's anything newsworthy here but it certainly makes me feel like Ice hasn't had to struggle like most artists working from the ground up.

@@MelissahealtsciTaylor’s in a different genre white or not. As someone who works in the industry as an AD, it’s KNOWN that hip hop artists tend to get messy around one another. ESPECIALLY the female artists. The country and pop industry has a different aura when handling work. Messiness isn’t really taken too keenly….if it’s done, it’s more in like a messy corporate job type of way. Not a street rat type of way. Everyone’s things are handled professionally and properly so this would’ve never happened to Cleo if she was collaborating with a pop/country artist. The hip hop portion of the industry is like going to an HBCU. It’s gonna be difficult to get a hold of financial aid, the phone will be off the hook, and people are gonna lose your paper work 🫠😂 (I’m sure that’s not ALL of them…just making a general point of reference).

I don't know who this girl is and I barely no the other...but my take is this... 1. Business is business. Keep it Business and have it dealt with that. 2. Don't assume someone is your friend. They dont have to be your friend but could at least show respect and treat that person accordingly. So not only is that person NOT a friend probably not a good person as well. 3. Don't wait for the hundreth time for this person or group to disrespect you. If they can get away with it they will. This sounds like a school trip gone wrong where one teen wants to stamp their authority and throw pettiness at another

I do feel bad for her and Rice Spice was so wrong for treating her so badly on tour. However she does need to take some accountablity. That short notice invite should never have been accepted. That's a hand out essentially. You didn't have time to prepare or even find out the details of what to expect. I'm not taking "I got you" as facts. I need to know what I got you entails. But she learned a valuable lesson and got her first your experience even though it was horrible.

Cleo became one of my favs on the “impact nyc” not knowing anything about her. Tbh I believe her because there was a pic of her carrying bags and fans said she was carrying Spice bags.
