Like, a LOT MORE. A fkn sh*t load more. AND he’s very down to earth & kind to his dumb, star-struck little girl fans who nearly fainted the first time I -I mean SHE-met him $ his bodyguards. (In my defense I was like 11). Met him again years later as an adult & gdam if he didn’t remember me! 😱
People don't realize Ice T's impact in the Hip-Hop Culture!!! I mean along with Schooly D created Gangsta Rap and without them they would be no N.W.A, Eazy-E, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, Geto Boys and a lot of stuff going on now...!
Sorry, but Easy E was way AFTER Ice-T. Ice's was releasing shit in the early 80's, real old school electro hip hop, and NWA and the Posse was released in 1987, after Ice's first album Rhyme Pays.
Ice-T actually did the stuff he raps about, always been a fan, even more so now with the success he has had overall, and the person he became. Back in the day, this guy was the real deal, a real OG!
I think he even had the first "Parental Guidance - Explicit Lyrics" sticker on his CDs, lmao. To quote from a Roast he was at: "ICE-T, man you're so old. When you made your first record deal, you used to the money to buy yourself out of Slavery!"
"I try to write about fun and the good times But the pen yanks away and explodes And destroys the rhyme Maybe it's just cause of where I'm from L.A. that was a shot gun!" That right there is real lyrics!!
Say what you want about Ice-T but the fact will always remain that he was a driving force behind the gangsta rap revolution. Ice T is one of our Hip Hop forefathers. He helped launch and design an entire genre of music. So yeah take that!

The older homeboy always played this when our school bus pulled up to his house haha man awesome times with amazing tunes. 90s was a totally different world!
Ice T was laying down gangster rap before NWA hit the scene. He's considered the godfather of gangsta rap and was one of the first really hardcore gangster rappers. He dropped his first album "Rhyme Pays" in '86 which features the classic crime tale "6 in the Mornin'." It also has a single called "Squeeze the Trigger" which is one of my favorite hip hop songs of all time and the lyrics are still relevant to this very day.
Ice T is by far one of my favorites! Then, he went and did some hardcore music with Body Count including brother Ernie C which made me respect him and his crew even more. I love people who express themselves with all styles of music. RESPECT!!!
Serious OG. He and Snoop and Ice Cube were scapegoated in the early '90s like they invented drugs. Those dudes are all tough as nails for the shit they had to put up with. Much respect!
Hard to believe family don't know about Ice he controlled the West Coast he was given an option leave the streets or prison for life. He had friends in high places and became a rapper and actor. Ice-T was O-G and still is.
@@PrintableCD1997 I'm not shittin' on u homeboy, but I THINK THIS MISCONCEPTION NEEDS TO STOP! Schooly D's rap (P.S.K) IS NOT A GANGSTA RAP! I repeat-"the P.S.K SONG" is NOT a rap about GANGSTA SHIT! I can tell two things. Most of yall only reiterating shitChu "heard" instead of actually BEING THERE DURING THAT ERA & actually HEARING THE RAP! That Schooly D song ain't even TALKIN' about no gangsta shit. Ice-T just said he heard the beat; liked it- modified it & the rest is history He paid homage to dude because he was KEEPIN IT REAL, but the Schooly D P.S.K rap didn't even STAND for "PARK.SIDE.KILLAS"😐😒 GO LISTEN TO THE RAP & HE'LL TELL U WHAT IT STANDS FOR Y'all don't really know nun about Hip-Hop history except for what these half-hearted documentaries (that have an EASTCOAST BIAS!) and these ol'school 90's EASTCOAST rappers-WHO ALSO HAVE BIAS AGAINST ANYTHING THAT AINT NEW YORK- been saying. STUDY THE HISTORY BY LISTENING TO THE MUSIC✌️😒
This is the guy that they talk about when they kids grow up ice t is that dude very bright and careful not a fake a funky flow with a message that is real truth
O.G. Original Gansta is one of the few Gangsta rap albums that isn't completely redundant to it's own cause. It's not too preachy, but its not too heavy to the point of filth. It paints a picture, and it spreads a message.
Over 100 of the most hardcore hip-hop groups lent their wisdom for the book *HOW TO RAP* along with *HOW TO RAP 2*. They interviewed dudes like Mobb Deep, Wu-Tang, Das EFX, Heltah Skeltah, Tribe, Pharcyde, and others.
