I first read about Kutikina cave in Richard Flanagans book, A Terrible Beauty, he talked about how the very first Tamanians who walked over from Mainland Australia made home in a large cave situated on the banks of the Franklin river. I made up there and then I was going to see it for myself.

I was part of the fight to save the Franklin River in the 80s and It made me so happy one of the most incredible places on earth is still running free & wild.

I was a young whipper-snapper back then, but had my cousins down there fighting for this country's last free river. one of them wrote a book about it. I am inspired your and their courage and effort ...outstanding!! Wild and free, some things are so beautiful and worth fighting to preserve. Thank you!!

Hey there. I'm 60 years old now. I live in Scotland and have always been known that my parents were set to immigrate to Tazmnia just before I was born and as silly as it sounds, I feel resentful that they changed their minds at the last minute..I truly believe in my heart that I should have been Tazmanian. I love watching all your videos. Please don't stop recording your adventures x

Thank you, you’ve lifted my spirits & reminded me to put my adventure cape back on! In the 70's Truchanas's book opened me to a wondrous wilderness, that you have allowed me to accompany you through your eyes to this truly spiritual place. At my age now it's only going to be a Gordon cruise. You took me to experience so much more with your awesome adventure. The Huon pines were magnificent to see. I have so much respect for the species and the timber having used it as a young engineering patternmaker in the 70's.

Wow. I've always wanted to see this cave ever since the archaelogical people visited there in the '80s and publicised it. Way too old to do the trip now so I'm so grateful to you for taking me there. You are very brave to have done it one your own too. This is the best doco I've seen in a long time. Sympathy for the leeches - been there etc. Hope you continue to make films of the discoveries you make, but (her's the Mum coming out) be careful and look after yourself. Cheers, Marilyn.

I very, very rarely comment on RU-vid, in fact this is only my second ever, however watching your videos has captured my attention. This one in particular is really impressive and that's saying something given the quality of your postings. I would really love to get to the places you do, unfortunately age has had it's inevitable effect so I only get to do next level (more likely 2) down. The Tassie wild is so good for the soul. Keep it up Rob, your efforts are much appreciated and I'm in awe of your resilience and persistance (which = grit).

One day this video shows up in my feed. I know it's 2 years old, but what a fantastic bit of adventure you had Mate! TO get there and to almost give up and then find the tiny little place where it actually leads up to the Cave is Crazy Lucky! I cannot go on adventures like this because I was given a physical body that cannot do very much, so watching you go on this adventure and find what your whole Purpose was for going all the way out into the Nowhere, is a terrific thing for me to watch, since I cannot ever do such things myself, so thank you from the bottom of my Heart, for taking me with you on this trip. I urge you to continue to do these kinds of things, because I never did when I was actually capable of doing them, as a young buck. Fill your life with adventure and that will be something that you can never lose, or have taken from you. Live your life, do as much adventuring as you can, do not be caught up in the world and the rat race to make as much money as you can or accumulate all kinds of things, because you can't take any of that with you when you die, only your memories and your life experiences go with you. I have never regret keeping my life humble and living frugally because so many other things in life open up when you do. Being able to catch your meal, and sleep under the stars, the simple life is much more precious than people realize, but I think you understand this concept, thoroughly. once again, thanks for taking an old crippled man with you on your adventure and I have subbed and hope to see many more adventures like this from your channel. May you have good health, and long life, and may you experience as much of this incredibly beautiful planet as possible! Cheers!
