This IE horror show album always brings me up! Damien is one of their best songs EVER. And Horror Show Album is way underrated. Their best performance as a band, is there! I hope Jon can make his way again into music.
One of IE's greatest songs and definitely one of my favorites. Dark, epic, heavy, overloaded with feelings and the aura of the supernatural. A fcking brilliant and haunting masterpiece.
When i first heared their music i was shocked!! I sayed this band is the new Iron Maiden and Metallica in my hurt! Perfect in every point... And then Live in Athens came aboard and lost my mind! I dont know what the rest of the world thinks about this band, but here in Greece Iced Earth are metal Gods!!! For me all their first albums untill Horror Show are definitely classics!
This is one of the rare songs that never bores me. It's been ages, man. And I still listen to it with the same joy and excitement. 01:20 that guitar riff and Marlow singing viciously "A beast resides in me". Still gives me chills. And the guitar in 07:12 omg what a simple but emotionally charged lead melody.
@@beastkotathix6662 I hear his time in jail for the capital hill riots was brilliant, 10/10 he wouldn't recommend it and they cant find him to serve further summons for more court appearances. Total knuckle bump for that idiot ruining this band for me. I still have mixed feelings over listening to a ''Cooker'' SOvCiv aiding in the Falt earth movement on that day in DC
@@Jabba1625 He was an idiot for going there, yes, and it's a shame the band will never be back together again - I guess at least you can say he was true to his word, still wish he didn't. Iced Earth is one of my most favourite bands of all time, just a shame it has to end like this. I still enjoy the music and the stories they tell no matter what.
This is sheer brilliance. The atonal melody is the poem that David Warner (RIP) recites in the first movie combined with that brutal and dark riff always shivers my soul. Full of references from the 3 movies, the Sam Neill monologue in The Final Conflict with Matt Barlow emanating an evil tribute in every whisper and tone, a delight to any horror fan. A spine chilling music. Iced Earth at their very best. And Dracula, of course.
I still remember vividly how blown away I was by this album when it released. I hadn't heard of Iced Earth up until that point and boy, I wasn't ready for this.
So the beast resides in me Deep down I always knew I never really did fit in So diverse from all of you Let him who comprehends Know the number of the beast It's a number of a man A number just for me As the boy becomes a man Father's minions pave the way Set in motion now, Armageddon Final conflict, end of days I embrace the hounds of hell And the power they oblige For the task that lies ahead The Nazarene I'll crucify They'll see the raptures of our kingdom They'll see the truth to mankind I'll show what hell truly is The monotony of their lives When the jews return to Zion And a comet fills the sky The Holy Roman Empire rises And you and I must die From the eternal sea he rises Creating armies on either shore Turning man against his brother Till man exists no more Nazarene, what can you offer? Since the hour you vomited forth From the gaping wound of a woman You have done nothing but drown mens' soaring desires In a deluge of sanctimonious morality I was conceived of a jackal Your pain on the cross was but a splinter Compared to the agony of my father I will drive deeper the thorns into your rancid carcass You profaner of Isis Cursed Nazarene I will avenge thy torment Now Disciples of the Watch See your Prince of Darkness rise Through famine and destruction The Four Horsemen at my side I demand a victory, I demand your sacrifice Or spend all eternity In the flaccid guts of Christ! When the jews return to Zion And a comet fills the sky The Holy Roman Empire rises And you and I must die From the eternal sea he rises Creating armies on either shore Turning man against his brother Till man exists no more

I've always wondered why you never hear of Iced Earth. It's weird, I only discovered them 10 or so years ago and I'm a huge metal head. Why they don't get more coverage is beyond me.
When it first came out I liked Something Wicked a little more . However it grew on me . Then I saw them during the Horror Show TOUR and fully concurred with you after that almost 2 decades ago .
Sean Quertinmont no he doesn’t. Also he can’t sing the way he used to. Listen to the 2008 live versions and he struggles like crazy. Always out of breath. Stu doesn’t have that issue as he is way more technical
Great album. Vynil is just coming tomorrow. We love jon schaffer and matt barlow. If trump wins the election evrything will change for Iced Earth btw but politics is not the issue for me. This is really great album and we love Iced Earth. Hope new album comes soon. Greetings from Turkiye.
Steve basically never uses a pick. He just slams the strings with his fingers. This is probably his Rickie, and I don't think there's any effects at all, aside from maybe some chorus.
during the interlude, he says "cursed Nazarene..I will avenge thy torment" makes it sound like he wants to avenge the torment of christ. but in the movie, he said "oh Satan, I will avenge thy torment, by destroying christ" i get it that they had to cut words from that speech because the scene was 5 minutes long, but i dunno...maybe they didn't want to say "Satan" because they didn't want people to think it was black metal?
"cursed Nazarene..I will avenge thy torment" Jesus' torment upon the cross was a victory over Satan. He died for the sins of mankind, and opened the way to salvation by His crucifixion. It sounds to me like the Antichrist is vowing to avenge that victory, which according to Biblical scripture 'made an open show of (the devil) and took the keys of hell and the grave'.
THIS ALBUM WAS RELEASED UNDER SUCCESS AND THE SHADOW OF SOMETHING WICKED.SOME FANS THEY FIND NOT SO GOOD AND NICE.DONT FORGET THE SAME YEAR WAS THE TWIN TOWERS FAIL.😢😢
