Hi Dr Joe, I could not find the correct measurements for this tea, so I came up with my own. I made a 1 gallon of this tea for my whole family. We drank a glass with dinner. The next morning I decided to check my blood pressure just to see, normally my blood pressure runs about 136 to 145/80. That morning and the next day my blood pressure has been 122/77. Thank you, I’d rather change something in my diet that is natural and good for you then to take something that nobody really knows what the long-term effect it would have on your body. Thank you.
Thank you Dr. Joe for this beautiful remedy tea! I can't tolerate the high doses of drugs that my doctor has been prescribing! As I approach my birthday I've been praying for knowledge! You are a GODSEND🙏
Thanks Dr Joe for this. It is called Zobo Tea/Drink in Nigeria. I used to take Nifedipine years ago but not anymore. It is good to know that Zobo rivals Nifedipine. I make this Drink at home almost the same way you did but use cloves instead of rosemary and also add lemon peel and lemon slices to the mix. Like you said Doctor Joe, it is heavenly. I drink it hot or cold.
FYI: Hibiscus works similarly as ACE inhibitors like Captopril and Ramipril. It is Ginger that is a Calcium Channel blocker, therefore performs like Nifedipine. I thought I'd point that out so you don't get them mixed up
Thanks for sharing 👍. I usually soak dry hibiscus, ginger & cinnamon over night. I strain it and drink it 1st thing in the morning. I put a 2nd cup of water and soak it again, warm it and drink it as a warm after dinner drink. I have lost weight since doing this and I have been able to manage my BP without prescription drugs.
@Gil S. You mentioned eye floaters I was curious to know if there's a connection. If you have high bp can you develop floaters I started having them in my left eye going on a year now and I've been having high bp for over 10+ years.
@Karen Giles when my pressure is high the floaters are there… so now with Dr Joe tea my pressure is lower and I don’t see the floaters as much…I do take pressure tablets..
@@drjoetvMD like how many weeks can u see changes in hibiscus tea for stubborn high pressure.Secondly how many times of d day should one drink d tea for good result.Thirdly does it work for anxiety.I am always anxious when I want to check my pressure or see pressure machine. At d end it ll b high.
This tea is lovely! I love it cold so this time when I prepared it, I used about a teaspoon of pure honey 🍯 and drank it hot, it was delicious!!!! Thanks for sharing!
Hello Dr Joe, I have learnt something new from you today. We eat green hibiscus cannabinus(kenaf also known as ‘malakwang’ in my language’) back home in Uganda. We eat the leaves as a vegetable, a bit sour. It’s prepared by boiling it then straining the water, add peanut butter to numb the sourness, eat with sweet potatoes or millet bread and you are good to go. It’s one of my village people’s diet. I never knew it could also be taken as tea!!!. This is just brilliant news!!. I Can’t wait to share it. I love the way you show us the actual ingredients and demonstrate how it is done. We have them here but in dried form but is as good as the fresh ones.Thank you once again for your teachings. Continue the good work. Blessings
Hi Dr. Joe! Just to say that this tea really worked for me (along with another exercise you proposed in another video) and for that I want to thank you. In my case, at least, I didn't need medication. I just follow your natural recommendations. Best regards
Dr. Joe after watching your video a few years back I started making Mornings Tea from my husband and it made a great difference in his High blood pressure. It dropped significantly with regular use. He does not like the taste of the Hibiscus but it does work well too! Thanks is for sharing this information!
Thank you Dr Joe for this video. I have 2 questions for you Dr Joe. 1. Is Hibiscus the same as sorrel or sobo?? 2. Can one drink this tea concentrated or should it be diluted to drink? 3. What brand of hibiscus did you use ?
It's difficult for me to confirm whether Hibiscus is the same as Sorrel or Zobo as I am not quite familiar with those brands or types but I suspect they may be the same. You can drink it concentrated if you want so long as you are taking in the right amount per drinking session.
@@drjoetvMD In the UK where I live, it is sold as Zobo leaves with Hisbiscus in brackets. Zobo is the name given to the popular drink made from the Roselle plant. Roselle is a species of Hisbiscus (Hisbiscus Sabdariffa) native to West Africa. The English name for Zobo is Hisbiscus Tea.
@@quarcoowelford7297 If you are having severe dizziness on Amlodipine, your blood pressure may be dropping too low. You may need to see your doctor to have your treatment adjusted.
Outstanding ingredients and excellent execution as usual. Thank you very much Dr. Joe for always sharing how i can better manage my health. Abundant Blessings be upon you.
Thank you Dr. Joe. Have rosemerry in my garden and root ginger and sorrel/hibiscus. Will definitely make for my blood pressure and wellness. Continue to do the good work Dr. Joe.
Good morning Joe!! Very interesting // all natural remedies .Thanks for sharing 👍I'm from the Caribbean I drink all different types of herbs 🌿tea grown-up on a daily basis. ......We usually say// called it Bush 🍵
Nice,,is called sobo in the northern part of Nigeria, funny enough I just finished the last one I prepared, planning preparing another one today,I put mine in bottle and put in the fridge, but I didn't know is good for blood pressure,,
Yes, it is good for BP. But please don't lavish it with sugar though. Use a healthy sweetener if you must sweeten it. Otherwise use the recipe as I did in the video
You can put the herbs and water in a ceramic herb pot with ceramic double lid. Just set it inside your pan with water. Bring heat up to boil, then back down to simmer. Acts like a double boiler and keeps all the wonderful properties of the volatile oils from over cooking or evaporating. May need and want less rosemary doing it this way. Experiment with longer simmers, by adding water to outer pan if needed, til you find your ideal intensity of flavor and herbal properties. Remember ceramic will be hot. Either let it cool down or use kitchen gloves to handle the ceramic pot to strain the tea out from the herbs. If is too intense can use just a portion and add water from the outer pan. Store the remainder in ceramic pot in refrigerator or transfer to smaller container and then later reheat this 2nd portion in a mug set in a pan of water. Again this is like a double boiler to protect the properties of the herbs. Mug will be hot so use glove to pour herbs into another room temperature mug. It's worth the effort to get maximum benefit from the herbs. Can get ceramic double lid pot at any China town or online.
Or bring up the heat to almost boil, then set pan on a diffuser and place lid on and knock down the heat to way low. Cook long to slowly extract herbal essences to preserve herb quality and to prevent water from evaporating which protects herbs from drying out or scorching.
You do not need to add honey or sugar. The tea should be enjoyed as it is. Use a healthy sugar substitute if you must sweeten it. You may add lemon but just remember, the lemon will alter the taste significantly. It will be more tarty. Your choice though
Love, the hibiscus, drink. Been using it,never knew of its exceptional usage. Thx you Dr.Joe, I will let my people know. Love that beautiful kitchen. Best wishes.💖👍👍👍
@@drjoetvMD yes doctor, I have fresh hibiscus around me can I use tham? Sir u talk about hibiscus bag, which one is the hibiscus bag? @@drjoetvMD am just thinking to stop the medication sir am just tired of it, am stresse up, so confused, pls help me doctor , I hate this sickness with all my heart
Not necessarily. You can drink it without but the ice just adds another dimension to the taste experience. But the ice is not necessary for BP reduction
Thank you Dr. I will purchase the items today and let you know. I know I will benefit from it, all ingredients I already love anyway. Never thought about putting them together as a tea, thank you
Hi Dr Joe, I am one of your subscribers and I always enjoy your educative healthy videos which I always share with my family. I made the hibiscus tea which I stored in a glass bottle this week and I noticed that after drinking the tea, I filled the empty bottle with water and the water was purple in colour. Is this normal?
Do remember that hibiscus tea has a beautiful rose to maroon colour. I suspect that the colour may have stained the bottle in question, hence the water had that colour
Hello Dr. Joe. Thanks for the video. I use the teabag with ginger and lime juice. I let the teabags stay in a jar in water for a number of hours in the sun. Is this a suitable approach or stick to the method you show. Enjoy the drink cold.
This is so good please give us the amount of water that you add and the correct amount of ginger at least in grams I'd definitely like to try this treatment Thank you for the info.❤from UK 🇬🇧
2T, Hibiscus tea +graded ginger root + 5 springs rosemary flavors tea, 1glass water bring to boil, then steep 10-15min, strain. He says it pure heaven. Its spicy, refreshing.
Next time I'm at the store, I'll look for some fresh Rosemary sprigs. Sounds like this tea is one of those things that the tongue recognizes as being very good for you.
Pamella, once a day is fine and you can use hibiscus tea bags for the rest of the day to make up. But if you have time to make more, twice a day will be welcome too
Dr. Joe, where dod you purchased the hibiscus loose tea? This is Patricia D. You know am going to try right. You are much appreciated. Blessings to you!
Don't have the fresh rosemary@ the moment but gonna try it now with the dry rosemary; thank you so much Dr Joe for this video... Gonna give it a shot thou i'm a lover of hibiscus flower tea(zobo drink)!
@@salamioluyomi4939 This Iced tea formula really doesn't need any sweetener. The taste is good as it is. No sweetener needed but I can see people are so addicted to sweet taste they won't let go. Hence, I have replied anyone who insists on sweetening it up should use a healthy sweetener. If you want to use pineapple, that's okay.
It is winter here in Canada and I am wondering if I can use my dried rosemary that I made from last years crop instead of the fresh sprigs. If so how much would I use.
