I have followed Icehouse from the first album and _"Man of Colours"_ is one of my favorite albums, and yet I'm pretty sure I've never seen this video before! Pretty cool video!
@@christopherkearney5843 - I live in the eastern New York State, about halfway up the state (close to Albany). I do have the album _"Great Southern Land",_ but I am pretty sure I haven't seen this video before. It looks like that album was released in 1989, and I think that's about the same time that I stopped watching MTV and the second cableTV channel they had.
Interestingly. Even if you were watching MTV. This music video wasn't played on MTV. It was deemed to offencive( it has been rumored that it was to dark as in satanic or dark). Also another note of interest. Madonna's song like a pray had a similar video, with flames, but was played on MTV. It peaked on the us billboard charts at 89 in November 1989.
@@garanceadrosehn9691 what is more starting is Icehouse next album, called Code Blue. Was not released internationally, as there international record label said it sounded to Australian. So effectively there international career was over.
I love ICEHOUSE. I love their music more than all the other music I love beside. I am 56 today. And I still haven't seen them playing alive. What a pity!! If there'd be any chance to see Iva Davies, Bob Kretschmer, Any Qunta, Simon Lloyd, Guy Pratt and Paul Wheeler playing all Icehouse classics...the amount and the location would not count.
@@gadabout68 I saw Icehouse in late 1980s in Denver at the Paramount Theater (it may be spelled Paramont, idk why, Denver.) Small venue. Unforgettable.
An excellent song that probably a lot more people would have heard and known if they'd left the religious imagery out of the video. This band hasnt had many missteps throughout its career but this was one of the few.
MTV in USA wouldn’t play this video after the video controversy Madonna’s hit Like a Prayer. Touch the Fire better than Electric Blue imo but no one heard it.
