Incredible drone footage!!! Makes me feel like I'm a bird flying through the canyon. We r going in Sept.(2024), what were the conditions when you went? I'd be nervous to get blown off the trail! Also, how does this canyon compare to the Fjarðrargljufur canyon?? How challenging vs worth the effort?! Thanks in advance!!
Thanks, Amy! The conditions were good for us except it was rainy in the morning before we got there, but it had mostly stopped by the time we started hiking. Wind was not an issue (thankfully) during our visit. (August 26th) This canyon is more remote and much larger than Fjarðrargljufur. At Fjarðrargljufur you literally park at the mouth of the canyon and then walk up a paved path. Don't get me wrong, it is beautiful and certainly worth visiting - just more "touristy" than Múlagljúfur - and really more of a "walk" than a "hike". The hike into Múlagljúfur will take about an hour at a casual pace. It is slightly inclined but not really strenuous. BUT, the view is absolutley worth it! I'm sure you will enjoy whichever location you visit, but if I could only see one, I'd go to Múlagljúfur!
Hey Tania - thanks for watching and commenting. The path is not as narrow as it looks in the video - it is narrow in places, but you're right, the distorsion of the 360 camera makes it look more narrow than it is.
