another small info dump on bleach. i realize if youre deeply involved with the series similar to me then this video will probably just be a refresher on the things you already know. however if youre a not a freak like me, this video serves to illustrate the parallels, development, themes, and the bond between ichigo kurosaki and rukia kuchiki.
this is also technically a part 2 to my thematic bleach analysis and i will have a part 3 coming out soon discussing aizen and the espada. you can think of the chain of these videos as a "respect bleach" type of thing to just how how bleach is deep without it being right in your face like jjk.

Forgot to do this anywhere in the video but if you like this video consider subscribing. I mostly make videos for fun but seeing monkey brain number go up is pretty satisfying. Have a video about aizen coming out sooner or later 🤫

The message which kaien gives to rukia that a heart is only formed when two people get close is one of best and important messages of this series as it also ties with how ulqiorra receives this message at his final moments while he searches for this message during the whole time

This duo is what made me watch Bleach in the first place. I love how Kubo made a male x strong female friendship without any romantique interest. It's kinda sad how people don't talk about it more often. They really are best boy and best girl. Edit : I ship Renruki, just saying.

respect for seeing they were never romantic interested in each other, they are amazing as best friends and characters and them not being together doesnt take that away in fact is natural, huge kudos. i agree renruki and ichihime is amazing as well

Also orihime was another character thay saw ichigos identity crisis of mind after the first invasion and not just rukia and again orihime wasnt jealous of their dynamic, she felt insecure she wasnt doing anything to help ichigo but as rangiku told her thats not true so please dont missinterpret orihime character

Inoue litterally admited she was jealous of Kuchiki-san, come on. Because she knows How to handle Ichigo when he's in pain ect, Inoue can't. Even the mangaka try to tell the Rukia has a special role in Ichigo's life. She's important in his life. This doesn't have to be always romantique. It's just a strong friendship.

More people saw that ichigo was having a problem/issues but rukia was the one that push him to deal with it she was the one that try to help ichigo in a way he would understand at the time Ps. Rukia is best girl
@malanala7371

Jealously can stem from being insecure. It's a fact that Orihime was comparing herself to Rukia and even admitted to Rangiku of all the best qualities that Rukia had over her. Some chapters after Ichigo's first fight with Grimmjow shows Orihime healing an injured Rukia and she glances at Ichigo's expression, noting an intense concern for her, which Orihime looks down in sadness. The storytelling is all in the way the panels were drawn in that scene. Orihime was definitely jealous.
@8LotusFlower8
@8LotusFlower8 Месяц назад
Be it jealousy or insecurity, doesn’t matter. Jealousy is a normal human emotion that we all can feel at times and there is nothing wrong with it. I don’t get why people tend to blame her for a natural human emotion that she herself hated and never acted on? It’s not like she started resenting Rukia, on the contrary, she admired her even more. As for Rukia, she’s way more mature than both Orihime and Ichigo due to her nature as a shinigami, years of experience and everything she went through during all those 100+ years. It’s only natural that she would teach lessons to both of them. After all, she has done the same for Orihime too when she grabbed her by the collar and yelled at her for feeling down and powerless. Now I’m by no means downgrading the importance of her friendship with ichigo, it’s one of the best aspects of bleach, and one of the most unique male/female relationships in all anime if not the most.

But i have to give credit when credit is due and explain and detail ichigos and rukia dynamic and friendship and dont interprete they are in love cause none of that is erased when they are friends, that makes their relationship more special that each one of them have a life and family in their own worlds

It was a shame that Rukia didn’t participate in the final battle with Ichigo and Aizen. Because the story started with her too. There was enough reason to even include Renji and Byakuya because it started the soul society arc. Before they already went through the royal palace.
@dekuopioids
@dekuopioids Месяц назад
Fair take i suppose. I personally don’t necessarily like aizens inclusion. The story has always been about ichigo and his struggles with death and i think ichigo shouldve either 1v1d yhwach from the start (golden option) or a huge collection of folks (isshin ryuken renji byakuya)

I can't really say, but isn't general fun with friends instead of deep investment in eachother intentional in JJK? Like, they are partners, but they are really self-sufficient also. I'm most likely wrong, because I only watched first season of JJK. So this is a speculation.

Of course, I understand that their relationship is not a love one, although perhaps Rukia had sympathy for him. Rukia is about 50 years old, and he is 16, which of course hinders them and they are also from different worlds, BUT 1. I think Orihime is not suitable for Ichigo as a life companion and partner. When Ichigo was devastated, when he lost his strength, the only thing Orihime was capable of was carrying donuts to him. I have not seen in the anime that she specifically tried to find out about his problems, about his feelings. I don't think she didn't notice his changed state. Every time something happened to Ichigo mentally, as you say, it was Rukia who left him in place and "healed these wounds." In turn, Orihime is an extremely controversial character for me. That she wants to become stronger and help her friends, later she saves the Arrancars who tried to kill her, but at the same time she does not try to escape and save Ichigo and Rukia from death. If it wasn't for Grimmjow, Ichigo would have died literally. It is a pity that the author did not work with Orihime and Chad, and the only thing we saw in her was an extremely insecure girl, most of whose actions were crying and shouting "Ichigo - kun". And Ichigo and Rukia's friendship is a very beautiful and elaborate thing. Rukia influenced Ichigo no less than Aizen and Urahara
@dele6230
@dele6230 Месяц назад
She's the most suitable for him and the most perfect match he could have gotten. 1. You're wrong, when he lost his powers, she's the one who noticed it first, and she was heartbroken for him. She's the one who contacted Soul Society to find a way of restoring his powers, as she couldn't bear to see him depressed like he was. Rukia helps him solve his problems with his powers, etc., because she's his mentor, an adult, and has a lot more experience than he does. So of course she's better able to do it, as Urahara did, as Shinji did, and so on. Orihime's contribution is totally different. Her presence alone reassures him and makes him stronger, as Ulquiorra or Ginjo have said. A part of her contribution to him is to help him remember who he is, especially during the Hueco Mundo arc when he almost got lost several times. She's his guardian. What if she healed the Arrancars who attacked him? What does this have to do with Ichigo? It's not that she didn't try to escape, it's that she can't. She can't escape from the room she's in. Kubo has given Orihime everything he's got, and she's no match for any character in terms of writing. If all you remember about her is that she shouts her name, you haven't paid any attention to her character. Haven't you read Bleach ? Basically, go back to reading Bleach instead of talking nonsense, it will be much better, because you don't seem to have understood much about Orihime's character, or her dynamic with Ichigo

@@dele6230 How does this relate to Ichigo? While she has stopped feeling the reatsu of Ichigo and Rukia, who most likely died, she decides to save the life of her enemy, who also tried to kill her. What is the logic? Where was it written that it was Orihime who contacted the society of souls to restore his strength? Didn't Urahara start creating a sword and go to Yamamoto asking the captains to charge it with his reatsu? If you find a chapter where it says that Orihime contacted the soul society to help him, I will accept my mistake. Yes, none of the girls shown suits him better as a couple, but this does not stop making her an insufficiently disclosed character. She has very little dialogue, just like Chad. Removing Chad from history will not change anything. To remove Orihime from the story, Ichigo switches the focus to another friend, for example, Isido, and nothing will change dramatically.

@@dele6230 "A part of her contribution to him is to help him remember who he is, especially during the Hueco Mundo arc when he almost got lost several times." The only reason she was the one in Hueco Mundo's arch who helped him not to lose himself was because no one at that moment could do it lol. Rukia is dead, Ishido and Renji are fighting espada, Chad is almost dead. No help has come yet. Obviously, she was the only one around, and there was no one else to help him. I am not saying that it is literally useless, but that in my opinion it is exactly like the Chat, not disclosed as it should be. Their sympathy doesn't seem more real to me. Ichigo treats almost the entire anime as a Friend, not a girl he likes. Because of this, it seems that he created a family with her not because he loves her, but because she loves him and because she is a good person. It's like he's playing the role of her late brother, whom he replaced for a long time.

In the death saves the strawberry novel. Everything you mentioned that you think she didn't do, she did in that novel which is about what happened during the 17 months. She's literally the one who looked out for Ichigo during the 17 months. Protecting him and making sure nothing happens to him (hollow attack) which he wouldn't be able to see. She's the one who noticed that without his powers, he still depressed and feels useless in protecting the people he cared for even tho he tries to move on. Orihime went to the Soul Society and spoke to Rukia telling her they need to find a way to get help Ichigo get his powers back some how because she can bare to see him like that and Rukia only them decided to do something but turns out Urahara was already working on something by the time Rukia goes to ask him what can they do. Orihime and Rukia's roles in Ichigo's lives are both important in different ways. Many may not see it that way even though it was explained, but that's fine I guess. Rukia isn't the only one who gets Ichigo, yes they have a special bond that will never be broken, but same could be said about Renji with Ichigo. Renji literally became everything Rukia was to Ichigo in the early seasons of Bleach in the Thousand Year Blood War arc. When Ichigo is in despair or feels like things are hopeless, Renji literally sets him straight just like Rukia. Those two, Renji and Rukia prove to help Ichigo in his journey mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. There are also moments where Uryu and Chad do the same even tho it's minor scene, but people tend to overlook their impact in Ichigo's life too. As for Orihime, her healing the enemies plays to her character. She is an overpowered pacifist. She hates violence and bloodshed that's why she focuses more on healing and defense. Idk what to tell you since you've already formed your own opinion, but Orihime is one of the people who make Ichigo want to be stronger and actually bring him comfort like his mother used to. Even Karin said so, Yuzu shared the same sentiment. There's no need to uplift one character and downgrade another just to uplift that one. Totally unnecessary when they all have an impact in Ichigo's life/journey. @@harak1ri568
