Also remember shikai was him not being able to contain it in a regular a sword form so it was always in a release state. So now his bankai is the opposite. Is extremely controlled. Which is the exact opposite of the other soul reapers bankai. The other ones were massively bigger more expanded. That’s why buakuya didn’t understand ichigos.

Just so we a clear, ichigo went from squad member level, to lieutenant level to captain level to bankai level in the matter of a month or 2 when it take years and years to get to those levels

7:50 The cross guard of Zangetsu in Bankai state is something you'll def recognize. However, it's a left turning Swastika called Manji which is a sign of peace in Buddhism. It's not the problematic one everyone knows of....

I almost feel bad for Byakuya - dude probably spent centuries mastering Bankai, only for some teenager to learn it in a week, pull the 'could've killed you' flex not once, but twice, all while stunting on him with a fit change mid-fight. I would've packed it up and gone home right there, personally.

Ichigo's Bankai is basically a major speed and power stat boost lol But I will drop a small bit of future knowledge, what Byakuya doesn't realize is his Cloak is part of his Bankai. Doesn't do anything special but it is a visual representation of Ichigo's higher level of power.
