Absolutely amazing episode, and this added so much needed lore and context that the manga didn't have along with these additional scenes and extended fights. Plus, there were several other changes that were made during this episode. Kubo keeps improving on this arc with each episode. Plus they introduced/showed things that will come into play later on the arc, which is good compared to the manga where they showed up at random. That and some things were changed/added so things make alot more sense now.

The little detail of Yhwach *needing* a perfect hyrbid like Ichigo to kill Reio is actually new. In the manga it just seemed like he wanted to torture Ichigo for the hell of it. We also did not know Yhwach's motive, he kinda was just a generic villain. Now we know he wanted to avenge his father and create a new world.

Insane episode, but I feel bad for Ichigo at this point. He must have crazy willpower to endure all these hopeless, soul crushing, and mindfuck moments where he gets manipulated. Aizen made him lose the will the fight first because everything was according to his plan and he talked shit the whole time. Then, Ginjo and Tsukishima worked together to trick Ichigo and steal his Fullbringer powers. Instead of killing him, they left him in despair while he broke down in front of them which is pretty fucked up. Now, Yhwach forcing him to kill the Soul King himself must have crushed Ichigo's spirit and any hope of victory in that moment, carrying the weight of all 3 worlds knowing that hes failed everyone. Like holy shit, the dude has been through enough
