Back then, I was in 5th standard. We used to play in a courtyard in my town. ICL was quite popular and we loved it. I still remember the team royal bengal tigers. Back then it was an unique and different thing. Time passed soooo fast. It's feels like yesterday thing. 😅 😅

All thanks to Vision of satish chandra . Because of him Our highly corrupt BCCI become Rich and earn crores every year just because of IPL . Just imagine (In 2007 they mocked T20 in their public statement but seeing CPL they announced ipl in 2008 ) ek saal mae zazbaat hi badal diye . Sharad power is highly corrupt , Satish chandra should have given Rights to broadcast and who knows CPL would be much famous and better then IPL

Ever since IPL has started, our players have stopped scoring runs in Tests, earlier they used to score up to 600, 700, 800, but now 280, 300, 350, 400 just don't get runs apart from it.

Actually, Channel 9's Kerry Packer said, when he went ahead with his WSC, 'Don't want to see a batsman's bum all the time!', which BBC & ABC where doing - broadcasting from 1 end all the time. Thats where Channel 9 came into the picture & broadcasting from different angles.

In reality BCCI's wealth start destroying the game, they need to spend more money to save and enhance their players marketing values by making batters friendly pitches and atmosphere to progress their kid i.e. IPL. The recent T20i world cup is an example where their team punished due to unavailability of supporting pitches/atmosphere/schedule etc.

Kerry packer wasn't rejected due to lack of broadcasting experience but rather because of the old school Australian cricket board not willing to modernise and create a bidding war to change broadcaster. Current broadcaster was government owned
