Hi GingerGoat, here are the answers: 1. I assume you mean the workflow in this video. I only used blender to create the wall, save it as FBX and then import to Iclone. I know many people prefer to render their final animations in Blender, but I haven't learnt how yet. Plus, using the LUTs in Iclone is really satisfying and I am happy enough with the results for now :) Let me know if this answers your question. 2. I used Jimmy from the Luis Toon Land pack as a base (www.reallusion.com/ContentStore/Character-Creator/Pack/3D-Cartoon-Character-Designer/default.html) Then I played with the morph sliders in CC3 :) I'll be honest, she was my first 3D character so it took me a long time... XD The hair I made in Blender, Clothes in Marvelous Designer. Hope these help :)
@@animashinka many people prefer to render their final animations in Blender, hmm.. but i like what you do.. render in iclone.. and explorer more power of iclone...
Im really impressed by all the results you are getting with reallusion iclone. Please may we have more tutorials on how you create our door environments.
Watching this tutorial is like having a smoothie fruity juice and milk 🥰 Thanks alot for this amazing guide about IC8 hopefully I can make an upgrade soon.. It's worthy, specially the fabulous Volumetric Lighting
Thank you Mana 😊 I agree! A lot of people move from Iclone to Unreal Engine/Blender for rendering precisely because of volumetric light. Both are free. Maybe one day I'll learn how to use them, but for now having most of the things I need in one place is a blessing 🙌🏻
omg lol, this tutorial is so sweet and nice 😆 i always use cartoon animator for past 2 month, and now want to learn the 3d animation. looks like iclone is best choice, since it's from same company, so i won't start from 0 because the basic look similar to CTA
Thank you MuckaChu! 😊 Glad to see another fan! I really enjoy using Reallusion's products, they feel less technical and more intuitive. Probably more limited in some ways to other cheaper/free softwares, but my workflow is smoother and faster. :) I think that's what wins me over in the end.
@@animashinka I now have CC4 and iClone 8 :) I have been building a room and was trying your 3 wall windows. When i import them to iclone 8, the windows are not transparent? They have some sort of ghosting. Also cant wait for more videos from you, love them!
@@muckachu Hey MuckaChu, can you send me a screenshot to animashinka@gmail.com? I've left the glass area empty, so all you need to do is add a "wall" and use one of Iclone's glass materials. (I think they have some free ones already included in their Material folder), if not, check cgtrader.com and type "free glass material" for free resources :) Oh, not sure if this might be the problem, but make sure you change the Opacity map of the window to a hue of grey. That controls the transparency level. Let me know if it worked :)
@@animashinka I think the issue is on my end lol. Because if i import your file, the 3 walls with windows are fine, but if i try to separate your file to include just 1 wall with windows... it turns out wrong. Ill have to learn blender to export better. Thank you for your time :)
@@muckachu No problem :) Feel free to delete the walls in Blender you don't need and export as FBX or OBJ. (Or select the wall you need and then when exporting check the "Selected only" box option and then click export.) I think you can delete the ones you don't need in Iclone as well, but you need to check the "multiple meshes" box when importing. Haha, you should see my screen recordings while working -there are hours of me messing things up and trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong. That's why doing live webinars is out of the question for now XD
Colors, lighting, scenery is so good. Lots of people try to get the photo realistic render out of iclone and so far I think it's still behind engines like UE5 or Blender, but this environment (cartoony) I think is very well suited for IClone 8. Thank you for sharing. What about outdoors, do you have any videos for that. Just subscribed to you channel and will definitely check out your content.
Super! A very nice and necessary tutorial! I really like how you work with lighting :)Your lighting is very realistic! I'm already waiting for your new lessons :)
Hey Mohsen! Thank you for the kind words! Are you using CC4 for your characters? You can select the gender from the start, or play with the body Morph sliders :)
@@animashinka You're welcome 🌹 I thought you have purchased your characters! I have one more question; What is your Graphics Card model you use for Iclone?
THank you Mohsen! You are not wrong though: I used Jimmy from the Luis Toon Land pack as a base (www.reallusion.com/ContentStore/Character-Creator/Pack/3D-Cartoon-Character-Designer/default.html) Then I played with the morph sliders in CC3 :) As for the Card, my laptop has an NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 2060. I am pretty happy with it. Overall I don't have any issues, apart from my laptop overheating and making noise when I am trying to do more complicated stuff (including recording my screen at the same time XD)
this software is fuckin genius, it's a catalyst software, where you can quickly create a base design, throw it in unreal engine 5 or blender and make it better between photoshop, blender and unreal engine
iClone 8 really is the best, I love the graphics, also, this might sound like a random question, but how do I edit audio in iclone? like on the timeline?
Hey Syan, sorry for the late reply. Good question! Honestly, I wouldn't recommend editing audio in Iclone. I usually do it in programs such as Audacity (it's free). Or during the Post-Production stage in DaVinci Resolve. :/ Hope this helps.
Hi, I really enjoyed watching this video and your narration. I was also attracted to the cute background music in the Character Lighting session at 9:38. Would you be so kind to share its title? Thank you very much!
Where did you get all those assets you used in video like table, character, room elements, and that dust effect, etc... Please share with us where did you get all those things ? Thank you by the way you're explaining is good and useful ❤❤
cool! Some great ideas I never heard before in other programs like Maya, Houdini and Blender. This reminds me of the old 3DS Max days when we had to "orchestrate" lights. Subscribed! Now I just have to pull out the wallet to pay for the upgrade from 7. Your disney joke, ha ha ha!!!!
Thank you Claus! Glad you liked it :) Good luck with the upgrade! If you know how to use Blender/Unreal etc. for rendering, you are still fine I think. Many people comment that they are far better for Lighting and there are free Video Editing softwares like Da Vinci Resolve where you can play with the colours. I only know how to render in Iclone so I'm just playing with the limitations X) However I do save A LOT of time when I can do the majority of the work in one place. So it's up to individual preferences :)
My next tutorial (coming out next week) will be exactly about Da Vinci Resolve and how to use it to make your Iclone renders better :) Hope you'll find it useful!
Thank you ^-^V As for the laptop, not really sure which model, but I can share the specs :) Processor: Intel Core - i7-10750H CPU: 2.60GHz RAM: 32GB Graphic Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX2060 Honestly, I am really happy with it, since I tend to move around a lot and work from different locations. But laptops tend to overheat a lot, so you have to be careful. I could barely record my screen for two hours, before needing to pause for it to cool down. Also, I can't do voice and motion capture at the same time, since the lapotp's fan sounds like a jet engine when I try XD So if you really really need a laptop, I recommend it. But I am already saving money for a proper computer. Hope this helps :)
Hi Pizzo's Jam's :) This one is split: - the 3D I just rendered in Iclone, it took a few minutes. But I wasn't going for quality, so I had anti-aliasing disabled. - I used DaVinci Resolve for Video Editing and Final Render, but I barely adjusted anything. Unlike my latest video :) Hope this helps.
Thank you Sven! Sure thing - it's actually pretty easy with iclone! You have a face editing menu which provides you with the following options: ready expressions, morphing slides for every single feature (it's awesome) and even a face picture which has all the features "drawn " on it so you can click and slide in any direction for the desired movement. I would sometimes start by chosing one of the "ready expressions", decrease its strength and then use the morph sliders to adjust to my liking. It's super simple and fast, my explanation is more complicated X) Good luck!
Heyyyy how did you made that walls in blender i tried many time by using boolean modifier but when i import them in iclone there is no hole in wall. Btw nice nice tutorial.
Hey hey! Good question. I left a link with 3 different walls in the description box in case you find them useful for your own project (They are completely free to use). But to answer your question: 1. Once you add a box mesh, stretch and squeeze it until it looks like a wall. Then in Edit Mode find the tool that allows you to insert edges. That way the box will be divided into more polygons. (btw, I am not a professional so my explanation might sound funny XD) 2. Delete the Faces on both sides of the box where you want the window to go.You can make your window as big or small as you want. Then "Fill" the holes between the two sides of the wall by selecting the edge/vertixes and clicking F. 3. YOu can add more rectangle meshes for the frame. :) However, using Boolean Modifier is probably a far easier and smoother option. Did you "APPLY" the modifier before exporting the file? Let me know how it went.
hello is it possible to adjust the scale of a charachter in i clone 8 ? i imported 2 charachters from cc4 but the first charachter is too big how can i adjust the scale ?
Hi Prank Fever, certainly :) Here is the process I found in Reallusion's forum: manual.reallusion.com/iClone_7/ENU/Content/iClone_7/Pro_7.4/06_Avatar/G6/Scaling_Character_in_iClone.htm But I personally use this free morph: marketplace.reallusion.com/cc-morph---height-adjustment It's up to you :)
Hey Animashinka! Awesome vid! I just wanted to know how you animate your avatar's arms and how I can animate arms quickly(efficiently?) and realistically.. Thanks!
Thank you David! You might be surprised, but animating the arms/hands took seconds!! I used the Motion puppet tool (free in Iclone 8) where you can direct movement of specific body part using your mouse. See if you can find it and try playing with it. If you need any further tips feel free to let me know. :)
So you're using now Iclone 8 now, I'm still with 7 and CC3. I mainly use Blender 3.3 but I reckon Iclone is a much faster way to make a little movie. So as an amateur, can you see a big difference between IC 7 & 8? I've seen many comparisons but I'd like your input 😊
Ooh, interesting question 🤔 For me personally, just the fact that IC 8 has volumetric light is already a massive difference 😅 (but you can achieve it in Unreal and Blender for free if you want to). I haven't had the chance to explore the animation features. Honestly I can't say if it's a 100% worth it to upgrade to IC7. Sometimes I find the many new features in IC8 a bit too much on the Interface. But you also no longer need to pay for the 3DXchange and The Curve Editor plugins... 😕 if I have to buy one, I'll go for IC8. If you wonder whether you should upgrade, I'll probably wait for the Christmas/Chinese New Year Discounts.
Thank you Debranjan! 😊 I was actually asking around other iclone users about their rendering process - Blender/Omniverse/UE etc., I agree, the difference is stunning! BUT I'm a huge sucker for Iclone's LUTs which can't be exported 😭 So my next video will explore a little bit about ways to make your final renders look better using just Iclone 8 and free video editing softwares like Da Vinci Resolve (not including the Iray plugin, still debating whether to buy it) Regardless, I hope you'll enjoy it. And I hope I'll have enough time to learn Omniverse as well 😉
@@animashinka this would be a fair video of what can be achieved ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OE0yNHv_eFk.html What makes omniverse such a natural fit for iclone, is that unlike Blender or UE, where essentially all you do is export the character and along with animation, and you still have to work with scenes//materials/lighting/cameras etc in the target environment, but in omniverse, you export the entire USD scene scene fron iclone as it is, and just make tweaks in omni, without going through the pains of the steep learning curve of a completeley different package or environment. So definitely worth your time, since it's just a render target (like iray) and you get to work exclusively inside iclone itself.
Nice video. So I want to create character/beast 3-4sec animation action cutscenes like what you see in a Final Fantasy game summon like Bahamut, can you help me with some advice on how to go about creating it, do you have any demos. Thanks.
Hi Animashinka, this is great as always. Have you tried playing with the toon shader? I couldn't find the best option in Iclone 8 with it. One more thing, what license do you use when sending your characters into Blender? I use the Cartoon Character Designer character as a base for making a new character and when I tried to send it to Blender from Iclone or CC4 it doesn't allow me because of the license Thank you in advance
Hi Tanja! Thank you! I haven't tried the Toon Shader I'm afraid. I watched the recent Realusion Tutorial about it and although I liked the final result, I still prefer the more Disney/Pixar 3D look. Regarding the export issue - when you bought the pack do you remember if you selected the Reallusion or Export option? The Export one is more expensive, but it allows you to export to other programs. Check if you can upgrade it. And do you have the 3DXchange if you are using Iclone7/CC3? Sorry for the late reply, I hope you found the solution, but if not, let m know. :)
Hi Pandu, I am using ASUS Predator and I am relatively happy with it :) Here are the specs: Processor: Intel Core - i7-10750H CPU: 2.60GHz RAM: 32GB Graphic Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX2060 Be aware that laptops tend to overheat a lot, so you have to be careful. Hope this helps ;)
Hi there, hmmm, I don't think you can download them for free legally. But if you are struggling financially at the moment I highly recommend checking programs like Blender or Unreal Engine -they are free, plenty of tutorials online and you can get amazing quality stuff. 😉 you might find Iclone for free somewhere illeagally, can't stop you, but I still recommend checking Blender first and supporting the creators of these programs in any way you can :)
Thank you Irshad! I wish I knew how X) I am new at 3D and so far I've only learnt how to use Iclone for my final renders. I keep hearing that using Blender or Unreal Engine is a massive difference though. I imagine it's the same thing in Omniverse.
