It's private in the sense that you don't broadcast to the hundreds of vessels listening to ch16 that there's about to be some interesting chat on a random working channel. Yes, if people are actively listening they'll hear you, but they won't flock to your channel out of sheer nosiness like they do (I know they do, I do it myself :-) ) if you hail by voice on 16.
Will the DSC work in mountains an fells etc? So a mate of mine was out biking, had the accident an broke his phone as well. He had to wait in pain for another biker to call for help. If he’d had something like this on a radio or, if you have docked your boat an gone hiking etc, can it still be used for this purpose??? Many thanks
The service is designed for global maritime use. Maybe if you are treking remotely inland using a Personal Location Beacon...they have been known to save lives as well.
if IM324G is kept in AUTO TX mode if we ping for every minute from onshore is it possible to get location for every minute from IM324 to on shore Transceiver ?? #iICOM
