Nice review but a couple of points: 1. At 0:55 you imply it is UHF\UHF or VHF\VHF only when it can also do UHF\VHF or VHF\UHF (as your video shows on the unit display). 2. The unit comes with a 6' head unit cable - you do not have to buy one separately. Agree with you completely on the crazy prices they charge for standard cables!

Thanks for the review. I agree with your thoughts. I can’t imagine Icom wanting to make such money off of accessories available for free or low cost on other units. I have forgotten about this issue. That confirms no Icom mobile radios for me.

This review has some misinformation. Some is correct and some is not. The cat 6 cable he mentions DOES work as a microphone extension cable, however, the separation cable is NOT just a 4 pin phone cord. It is actually a 6 pin phone cord. Just thought I’d point that out.

Thank you for the correction. The picture of the extension wire appeared to just be a 4 pin wire.

@@Everythinghamradio no problem. Just didn’t want someone else to make the same mistake I did when watching this video. I ordered the radio a couple weeks ago and watched this video so i ordered a 50Ft 4 pin phone cord as well. Radio came today and guess what.....wrong. So now I had to order a whole different cable and wait.

Hi, I'm going to buy the icom 2730E Question; The radio has several power settings, is it possible to set one of the powers to a lower one, e.g. 0 5Wat / 1Wat, etc., the minimum is probably 5W Is the reception of all frequencies good: 118.000MhzMhz / 150.000Mhz / 446.000Mhz is good Regards. ....

Yep that what you are limited to do when you don’t have access to the radio to use it personally but you still want to give people information about the radio that they probably won’t do themselves when looking to buy a radio…most of the time you only look at what is on the listing or do more research like on RU-vid…you don’t search for the manual and read it u til you actually have the radio…and even then not always…
